I was responding to chap that asked a question. Thanks for useless assistance

Simmer down on the drink. The person also just posted pictures, although I don’t think there will be a reprieve. But someone else stated the same exact thing 2 hours ago.

  • Does giving pep talk to adults on how to run their lives give a bit of a feel good. Some say live your own life.

  • I think golf courses should remain closed. I don't play golf nor do I even care. I just feel they should be closed based on the fact it doesn't affect me at all.

  • We'll be healthier than before, once alcohol ban is lifted.    Not a bad time to stop drinking altogether and spend the time and money to something else?   Some say that it takes 3

If there was even the slightest truth in your claim, then there would be no alcohol ban

Your opinion doesn't count in my cosy little world as I consider you a meek sheeple, but thanks for your wasted on me! post, hopefully it brings huge enjoyment to one of your herd  ????

not drinking any beer or wine for six weeks.

All I could find was Chang.???? Still beggars can't...

So Bangkok is opening restaurants.

Retail stores allowed to open.

So that's an all clear for the malls then.

According to Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin, who seems to be the government's point man on the virus, the booze ban will last at least until 31st of May. You'll need to tighten your belts, guys, with all the weight you're going to lose not drinking any beer or wine for six weeks.

The weight loss doesn't seem to work. While I cut down beers to 0-2 small ones a night, I'm now hungry as a wolf in the evenings thanks to the missing calories and probably eat more than the 150-300kcal.

I worry about those people who have drink issues the government need to give them medical help as a lot will be suffering cold turkey I can see violence increasing in households where there are drink issues and I fear that we could be hearing of deaths related to this idiotic decision ☹️☹️

No, South Africa has implemented an alcohol ban, and apparently with very positive results

Positive for whom or what, may I ask?

Just got an email from Healthland, they will remain closed until 31 May.

So no massages until June.

Thank you China.

The 7-11 delivery is interesting, particularly if it was more widespread. 7-11 falls in the Dhanin empire & he is one of the main business supporters of Prayuth.

add Laos

Why ?

it was enforced over New year, for 1 week and lifted immediately afterwards.

I'm sure the local equivalent to the NAAFI is well stocked and running.   I think the term for this policy is Sadism.

Wow 36 pages.   A hot topic.  I wonder how many expats would leave Thailand if this ban was permanent?  I read that mom amd pop stores still sold alcohol?   Was there still product shipping?  Wasnt there a big fine or jail time?  I'm sure all brew pots are now being filled with mash and stills  will be going full steam

I tried 3 in CM that know me today and the answer was no. Just for beer.

If I wanted to come up with a policy which would make young Thais take drugs I would ban booze.

Lot of trouble going to come from this. Expect to see a huge increase in drug related crime as well.

Course not a problem for the top guys. The officers mess will still be open serving drinks.

or maybe they will just smoke legal cannabis available everywhere ? time for people to improve !

booze is for low so people, legal drug if for the smart ones !

I have noticed from your post history already that you think to know everything better,

Noted, thanks - So why bother to come up with your nonsense, I also notice that you display sheep like traits but choose not too mention it. ????

Do you think the ARMY club in Bangkok will have any alcohol to sell, I'm sure that the many members of the club will have abstained from drinking during this period of national disaster?

I don't suppose they have a chance to go to the club - aren't they working night and day, snatching a few hours sleep on a camp bed in the back of a wagon, command net headphones on one ear so they can respond immediately if they hear their callsigns, boots loosely laced and their webbing for a pillow...

I mean, that's why they are being paid those cash bonuses isn't it?

There was a post on this forum shortly after the ban in Thailand started, that Laos also had one at going in effect in April.

I only parrot what that member posted

Must read all of it to understand the May 3rd relaxation of Coronavirus rules in Thailand.

Doesn't mention anything about alcohol, does it?

Most Buddhist holiday's need not be dry but they are.

Elections days are dry in many countries.

There are one or two other countries that have gone dry on the excuse of the Covid-19 situation, but they are dictatorships.

So, work it out, why is Thailand dry and continues to stay dry despite the drop in infections and zero deaths for a few days.

Because they can, no other reason. Logic and commonsense does not exist in the LoS.

Anybody remember Purachai? The twisted little man finally got his wish - no alcohol for anyone.

It's ot about critical thinking. It's about facts. What facts do you have? ...right...none.

You've answered your own question, at least give me a chance, our are you always right? I thought that was my prerogative ????

maybe 7/11 were stocking up because when they ordered they thought they could sell on the 1st?

No alcohol for the poor and lower middle class. The rich will be fine, just like golf and tennis the Chivas will still be going down in the marbled halls of the top generals of all colour, the unusually wealthy and the mega rich.

What we have to remember is that the wholesalers are banned from selling too... The brewers are in the same boat and have run out of space for stock so have stopped brewing/distilling...

It's almost like the oil industry - if only we could buy beer futures and take delivery on it to alleviate the storage problem.

I think the Thai government have trolled us well here - extended our visas until 31st July, and banned alcohol until then (probably).

Good bye Thailand. I will not fly so far from my country just to drink tea or coffee,

on the beach.  Thanks for the memories.
