Kadilo
I don’t mind a bit of silence, but the sulkiness I can’t stand. I dont live with mine but in the early days if I got the sulky treatment I would tell her next trip i was off to Pattaya with my mate and giving her a miss. I did it once and strangely she’s not tied it since.
Lacessit
My ex-wife in Australia could keep up the silent treatment for nearly a month. My Thai GF very rarely goes silent or has more than one hour of silent treatment, I can outlast her. She has been known to talk with one of her friends non-stop for 6 hours, so I suppose keeping shtum is not in her DNA.

Odd, I always assumed a woman who loved me would want me to be happy, and try her best to make me happy. But it turns out only women I hired for the night were ever interested in doing that. We weren't married, but we had lived together for almost 5 years before the silent spells started, which annoyed the <deleted> out of me. The first one lasted for about a week, the second one for about the same, the third one for about two weeks and the fourth one for about three weeks. As you have quite rightly said, no amount of asking what "had I done wrong" worked, not that I thought I had done anything wrong, or resulted in an answer of any description, just more silence. The last time, was when she was up north at her mother's 100 day funeral wake, and a few days before she went she wouldn't speak and didn't answer any of my calls when she was up there. So I decided it was time to act on what I had told her the last time, that I would sell the house and we would split up if she did it again. I quickly got the house on the market and handed out lots of laminated flyers, and got some interest before she came back. When she arrived back home and I told her that the house was on the market and that we were going to split up, she was beside herself, sobbing and crying for days – – go figure. Having said all of that we remained on good terms when I eventually sold the house and we still are, all these years (8) later. Interestingly enough, recently I asked her what the silence back then was all about, and she still wouldn't tell me. I enquired if it was that she thought I had a mia noi, and she said no because I wasn't the sort to do that, so despite my asking several other questions, I still didn't get an answer?

Maybe it is human nature that after the courting and "honeymoon phase" , the thrill is gone and dissatisfaction starts to grow. From a small embryo it then grows and grows. ( can be the man, can be the woman, or both) I won't list the number of times i went through that process . Next ! I really even stopped believing it could happen, that it was possible. Not just for me.... but i looked at everyone else and sure enough almost all were just going through the motions. Now i realize what the problem is/was . Really i do. These girls were looking for a life that could keep them taken care of, and entertained. Now, number one i could do. But number 2 is just impossible . These girls were pretty nice, treated me ok. But not one knew how to get through a day, let alone life, by doing something on their own which they took pleasure in and got a sense of pride from. Just like a newly hired employee, they would show interest and desire to please , but if it is not real sooner or later the act can not continue. On what was probably going to be my last attempt at the fantasy, i took another one in. To be honest I did not really care much anymore, it was like being down to my last chip and what the hell, throw it down on number 34 on the roulette wheel. Life is one funny mother. Damn if just as I was walking away there was a shout : 34 RED ! Still paying off as of this writing 3

Just a theory, but I reckon the original reason is so trivial they don't dare admit it. I did one explanation for a recent 'SULC' (Sudden Unexplained Lapse in Communication). I was watching The Witcher on Netflix, and she got upset that I was looking at another girls boobs ... on TV. You can't avoid boobs in The Witcher, there was at least two in every scene. 1

liddelljohn
to be honest I soon realised that Thai silent treatment and death stares was far nicer experience than Continual British nagging and psycho death threats !!!! the thai women come to their limited senses after a few days or hours the British , American ,French ,Irish ones never do !!!!!

Knocker33
About 17 years ago now I used to get the silent treatment. It used to pi$$ me off to start with along with the 7 ' 0 clock call.Where are you ?when you come home? I was only out with mates most of the time having a few beers. But if I got into session and got home late. Well it could be days before we spoke. After a while the treatment was a God send as when I was going out even though there was steam coming out of ears and she really wanted to ask where you go she would not lose face and ask. And no 7.0 clock call either. We are still together so it has nothing to do with being unhappy. It's a immaturrarity thing

pgrahmm
Rarely, almost non existent - maybe 2x's through the years....Then, it's just quiet with no attitude attached....She has a very sunny/happy disposition so the solemn moments are noticeable.... However, I also quiet down when something is bothersome.... Of the two I'm more likely to be the aggressive one, but it rarely happens....I'm not as sunshiney as she is, but, she has a way of brightening the day.... It's not so much a silent "treatment" (aimed like a nuke) but more of a tactful withdrawal..... Imo better than careless escalation x2.....

I think the Thai husbands approach is to visit the 'gik' until it blows over, but that may be why most Thai marriages last about 3 weeks. My wife's father got caught with the village "casino operator" about 9 months ago, I have been able to do no wrong ever since and have even moved up a few ranks as he has been demoted and is currently under house arrest. Must say he is a very nice guy though and we get along great, but Thai male blood runs thick through his veins ????

me4175
I can't take it more than a few hours and I will find something to make her laugh to break the silence. It mostly works.
