i can sit around and do nothing in Hua Hin until 10:45 pm and then race home and do nothing!  Yahoo!

  • Although I agree the curfew isn't necessary, where would you be going at 11pm when everything is closed?

Where does this put DIY places like HomePro, Global and the like?

Or do we just have to wait until Sunday to see what's open?

Homepro on Samui is open and has been for over a week. Not sure if it has ever closed.

Sorry Crossy, just seen yours and subsequent posts.

Home Pro pattaya has been open all along.

In our area (Sattahip/Ban Chang) stand alone Home Pros and MegaHome stores have been open for many weeks already.

On Sunday the Malls will be absolutely slaughtered, like the entrance to a football match. ????

EDIT Just to clarify, we are in Pathum Thani, no DIY for 6 weeks, still no beer ????

I thought Mega Home was open already....

Interesting, last time I checked they were doing the "personal shopper" thing, far too complex for me.

Cinemas must remain closed but food courts in malls can also re-open.

Given how few people go to movies these days. That could easily be the safest place.

Curfew should be starts at midnight, 11pm is still early.

Indeed. While I don't agree with any curfew - perhaps they should consider this: new curfew 11pm-4am for one week starting May 17. May 24-May 31, midnight to 4am curfew. From June 1 onward, end the curfew altogether as it's completely useless and just a power grab.

Opening food courts seems questionable.

The individual operators are skint, as well as zillions of Thais that are not in the paying tax bracket...

Yeah, it seems that most of Thailand can DIY except us here in BKK ????

Even Tesco had the hardware roped off.

It is odd that Tesco has clothing/electrics section cordoned off in BKK but in BigC everything is available.

Interprovincial travel is discouraged.

And what exactly does that mean ... Yes, No, Maybe? If we do travel do we have to go into quarantine for 14-days?

That must be regional. In Chonburi Tesco the clothing area opened up the same time as the alcohol. They put up a big display on PPE, maybe Boris Johnson should have looked to Tesco.

This was betwen Bangkok and Udon this morning - sold traffic heading North !

Any checkpoints along the way? As long as there are, I won't be crossing interprovincial borders. I have been reading that several checkpoints have been removed over the past few weeks.

BTW

I wonder about other areas in the country.

_Chiang Mai dweller - I was out at a marker, then supermarket at 9 AM. It seemed everybody was out about and shops opening. Even more noticeable when I was driving around right before lunch. I thought then, the walls/rules are breaking down. On second thought maybe, everyone BUT ME, knew this was happening. Out of the loop again. Arf.

Nice news on a Friday though.

I need to go to Hua Hin next week : what about the hotels ...all closed?

Rode my motorbike from hua hin to bkk via ratchaburi today, you'd never know there were any restrictions. Home Pro , Thai watsadu , do home etc are wide open....stop whining and get out . Jeesh !

HomePro and Index have been open already in Pattaya.

HomePro never closed here on Samui either.

It must be a Provincial decision.

It means just travel, everyone else is going where they want i'm 100% sure of that.
