CCTV from a rice mill on the Surin to Prasat district road showed a horrific collision between a white Toyota pick up and a Mitsubishi Pajero.

Three people in the Toyota were thrown out after the driver lost control and careened to the other side of the road directly into the path of the Pajero.

No one could possibly brake, reported Daily News.

The thirty nine year old driver of the pick up and a male and female passenger were dead at the scene.

They worked for a sugar company.

The driver of the Pajero, Panya, 49, was cut out but died in hospital.

The accident happened on Route 214, km marker 11, in Muang district of Surin in Thailand's north east.

RIP       But absolute stupidity driving that fast in the rain .

Typical of the Thais to drive on the right hand lane even though the left lane was clear. If the Pajero driver had stuck to the left hand lane, as per the law, he may well have avoided the crash.

  • No one could brake seeing the video the Toyota driver was driving recklessly and way to fast for the conditions.

Hydroplaning is all too common in the rain doesn't matter how fast they were going once you loose it very hard to control itv

These utes are dangerous at high speed, the plastic bed at the back means there is no weight over the back wheels unless they are loaded, accidents waiting to happen.

Way too fast for the conditions.  Once you hydroplane, you're screwed.

Indeed I had one a tray back Ute here in Australia when not loaded you can easily lose it in dry or wet conditions.

What a shocking waste of life, just because 2 idiots were driving irresponsibly.

Both vehicles were being driven dangerously, with no thought given to road conditions.

But hey, just another day on the roads here.

Plastic bed...?

The road is a river, and they still feel the need to drive so fast,

if they take themselves out with such stupidity,so be it, but

this time they also took the life of the Pajero driver.

Toyota pickups have steel beds, not plastic!

Even you drive your self as carefully as you can, can't do nothing if some idiot on road act like that! Slick tyres and too much speed, nice compination!

Just yesterday delivery car run over my friends wife motorpike!

And her parents first think how much they get money ! Good she was lucky to survive.

There was no mention of either vehicle having "slick tyres".

Too fast and perhaps bad quality tires.

Remove all windscreen wipers.

It might possibly slow some down.

My pet hate with Thai drivers is overinflated tyres, scooters with 50 lbs sq in and vans and pickups with 70+. I have commented a few times and cheerfully been told, “go faster”or “not use gas”, the tread contact area is reduced and in the wet they aqua plane even at a reasonable speed if care is not taken. Now I will shut up, nothing will change, the carnage will continue, to all of you, be aware , be careful, T I T.

They simply have no idea how to commandeer motorized vehicles.

They also think they are supermen.

Result: See above video and the statistics that make Thailand number 1 for road deaths.

he may have lived 27 miliseconds longer... - considering the trajectory took the Ute across Both lanes in succession...

Autonomous vehicles - not perfect but would cut down the number of deaths by around 90%

Only way to go
