Um? financial assistance to a fraction! The farming assistance wasnt payable to my wife who is a farmer and lost several hundred thou baht because of restrictions. Because of corruption my wifes land hasnt yet had its title changed, Local sorkabar office desire brown envelopes. Been 5years and nothing happened so she is not entitled. All our other neighbours that are government officials, friends and family of, owners of land illegaly rented for farming and such all got the money.

Just read news that myanmar workers returning to myanmar from thailand are testing positive. Seems strange...!! Im not trusting anything i read anymore.

That said, extend the amnesty until alls good and im ok with it????

Seems those Myanmar 'workers' were from a detention centre close to the Thai/ Malaysian border and had been detained for visa violations. So likely had traveled from Malaysia where some had been earlier detained. Many were believed to be Rohingya refugees.

So, maybe not so 'strange' after all.

Strange that...I guess they atrribute road deaths to karma. It wasn't long into the pandemic when I saw those on bikes wearing face masks but no helmets. The mind boggles.

Not really, no way you can prepare a nation of 70 million people to a pandemic... is just that Thai people have taken this threat more seriously than most other countries around the world and acted accordingly, where in ma many countries people throw cation to the wind Thai people are still wearing masks and mindful of the virus coming back...

So the Thai's are doing it wrong again, 'cos they are different to the many countries' people who throw caution to the wind?

Or, have the Thai's done it RIGHT?

Edit

I admit, it is very difficult to say anything good about TH.

Not in my neck of the woods, in Tescos yes but then mostly under the chin, in the village nobody wore or wears them let alone 2 meter distancing, in the market town 17 km away there is only 2 meter distancing at the ATM's due to the markings on the floor but no masks are worn now, the novelty has worn off.

They are largely ineffective in terms of protection against viruses anyway, and if worn for long periods are unhealthy and even dangerous to people like the elderly with compromised respiratory systems.

Thailand has many smart Scientists and Doctors.

Some of the best in the world.

Way to go.

I couldn't agree more. My mother's doctor in the UK told her he had to go to Chiaingmai to complete his specialist studies in neurology because it had the best hospital in the world in this type of speciality

I didn't notice much of the social distancing last Thursday in the supermarket, or the fresh market on Friday. As to masks, most wear them but many don't bother, neither did the IO on Wednesday. or the guy in the bank.

I think I saw this famous words here on Tv! Anyway I think for whatever country hit by Covid -19 they should hold back the "we are the winners" a bit longer and what better words to use then than Winston Churchills speech after the British routed German forces at Alamein.  "Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning

Same with me .No problem with lockdown. I hear from my friend in Australia that their has been extended until next year on their lockdown. A long lockdown is better then having a lockdown 6 foot under.
