Actually , im from Belgium and we need a bar restaurant shutdown . I want them to be open , and i want everything to be normal but it just isn't . Nice personal attack thread.  No stats or data to back up the personal attacks, just off the cuff remarks making some people look like they really need to educate themselves in regards to how deadly covid actually is. 

 

Let's see, we have 7 billion plus people with 650K total deaths WORLDWIDE, an ifr around .5% ( which means 5 people out of 1000 that contract the virus will not survive) and people wishing others to die for not getting an unproven vaccine.  Well done!

I would not mind them going out in a body bag, i mean its their own responsibility. My problem is more with the fact that they by not taking the vaccin weaken its efficiency.

 

The non responders and others that can't take the vaccin for medical reasons depend on a large group to be vaccinated. These guy are therefor risking others. 

 

I am all for freedom as long as it does not impact others.

How many times do you have to be told that this infection is not about the fatalities, but the direct impact of the infection itself both on the health care system and the cost of having many  people ill at the same time?  We are still in the early stage of the pandemic and the long term damage is still being discovered, with the sad reality that it keeps getting worse every month.  You insult the intelligence of people when you toss out the fatality rate as if it is the only measurement of the cost of a disease. If it was as simple as people who were going to die, just quickly dying, this would be easier to manage. When people become ill, it takes an unusually long time for  a large number to recover. 

 

We all know that the likelihood for many of us is that we will not die. However, for a large portion who become ill, they are incapacitated for weeks if not months. There is an inflammatory component to this infection and we are now seeing that the infected are at a heightened risk of dying from heart attacks and strokes. How many times do you need to be told that the  illness when it enters a school or a workplace can shut the  facility down long term because so many people  fall ill?

 

How many times do you need to be told that there are PROVEN effective vaccines in use? The concepts and the methodology being used for the SARS Cov-2 vaccine is established. What is being done here is that the existing concepts and principles are being applied to this disease. This is why the Oxford Vaccine Group was so advanced.  they have been working on a foundation for decades.  What part of existing  Corona virus vaccines do you not understand? Do you eat pork or beef? If you do, then the likelihood is that the animals you consume were vaccinated against their species specific corona virus. The University of Saskatchewan initiated vaccines have been around for years, and I didn't read  your complaints before this year.

 

And here's another sad fact; much of the world will not be vaccinated for a decade, because it will be difficult to do. Poor people  in much of the world will be left behind and countries will become reservoirs of disease. We see this now with polio with countries like Pakistan.

 

On a positive note, while your own country may  not be able to oblige you to be vaccinated, you will most likely be unable to travel anywhere without evidence of a vaccination. This is what is done by many countries in respect to yellow fever and polio. Thailand will be one of the countries insisting on evidence of vaccination.

Well that means that 5 out of 6 Brits are concerned about themselves and public health to take the vaccine when offered. This is the group of Brits that I admire and like. The other group, probably overrepresented here, are not people I either admire or want to be associated with.
