Shutting down Raja ferries would be a good start ????

Or make them buy new boats, and enforce safety rules and regs.

Raja Ferry Lpc plans to raise the sunken Raja 4 ferry. The most important is the garbage, of which most are still inside the rubber-cover and on the 10-wheeler trucks, but also preventing oil leak is important.

Here are some images illustrating the plan...

The lift up of Raja 4 began today by two cranes of 200 ton and 600 ton, but only after the garbage was covered, so it could not fall out...

Thank you for the update KhunPer. I wondered how things were going. (I refuse to use Fakebook!)

A bit of a storm forecast for Monday night. Hopefully they will finish before then.

According to Samui News Update all vehicles has now been retrieveed from the Raja 4 ferry. Some garbage has fallen out from the trucks, but are on the ferry, which have been covered in nets. The ferry is expected to be recovered within 72 hours.

The Raja-4 ferry is now partly floating and will be moved a shallow spot around "Island 4" and pumped to normal floating level, and thereafter dragged to Don Sak.
