For how much longer do we have to wear masks in supermarkets for?

How long is this going to go on for, or is it now just ingrained into society for good? Is there any review/timeline on this or has it all just been forgotten about? Same applies for taking your temperature and other things like seats in restaurants spread out??

I know it's no longer applied in every place now, but certainly is in the bigger stores?

So, is this here for good or is it going to be phased out soon, there hasn't been a domestic covid case here for approx 4 months now! So why still the masks??

I get that wearing a mask is not pleasant, but they might have played some part, along with other factors such as the hot weather, in allowing Thailand to escape the first wave. If so, it is a small price to pay to continue having so much freedom in other, more important ways. Remember, this situation is almost certainly going to last a few years, and could actually hit Thailand pretty hard in the cooler weather.

Until we're told we don't need to.

I get it, in Europe and the US. I do. But here? No new cases in 90 days and people are still buying into the apocalypse? What is the point of masks, at this stage? What is there to spread? Any remaining cases were gone long ago. Sanity and rationale, please.

Rules is rules. If you want to live in the country you abide by the rules. not make them.

No new cases in 90 days is a good thing na?

There is a reason that there are no new cases and we should not start here like in Europe or in the US. I don't have a problem with the mask. I have more problems if people think they are above the law and don't use them.

I'm currently in a Japanese restaurant in a shopping centre.

I put a mask on as I walked in, only so I don't get glared at, spoken to or otherwise. Many people here not wearing them. No temperature check but a guard sitting at the entrance if I insist on one.

i strongly feel that Covid passed through Thailand a year ago and it's done most of the damage it's likely to here, and around much of the globe. Governments are either scared to be different and allow life to go on, or they want to control their people.

I'm very bored of Covid19

I go to a local mall for a cup of tea once a week, to meet a couple of friends. I am not permitted to enter the mall without a mask, but having walked probably 60 yards to where we sit, which is not partitioned off from the rest of the mall, I am then allowed to sit there mask free for the duration of my stay !

A bit contradictory to the necessity to wear a mask.

I went to a "Seven" in Pattaya today and for the first time, I wan't shot with a temperature gun nor squirted with alcohol gel...has the dam begun to break or is this one store off the reservation?

Aren't we all.

I have serious questions about how the whole thing has been handled but, if the available choices are between the full lockdowns in Europe, or a more relaxed approach that includes minor precautions such as masks, I'll take the masks every time.

I recon the rest of the world will start taking theirs off from 4th Nov. How long the 'Mexican wave' takes to reach LoS isn't yet clear but if they want tourists for Christmas some U turns can be expected.

IMO the whole thing was little more than seasonal flu, aided and abetted by politically motivated espionage & skulduggery.

We not want be same new zeland.

When covid control in the world= no need for mask in plaza etc.

The farang like to say how thailand should control covid. But 200,000 new infection in farang country everyday.

Thailand would be stupid follow that.

If your country follow rule for 5 week, can control same thailand. But want to argue, fight, anti mask, anti vaxxer loons make it be impossible.

8 month, 800,000 die already and still cry/fight/complain/moan/groan about wear mask.

Is not difficult. Better than loose job, business.

Idiots.

There will always be situations like this. Just recently I went to the Central Mall in Pattaya. In front of me a Thai with technical equipment - an engineer. When his temperature was measured the thermometer showed a red light. But without any word he was allowed to pass. Then I asked the guy why he let him in. The answer was "He was here before already"... There will always be people that don't care - even if it is their job.

Lets hope it contunues for a long time.

This past year is the first time in many years I have not come down with a cold or the flu.

Perhaps we are simply not designed to be surrounding by the exhalations of so many different people every day. Perhaps we need to just work out how to get comfortable with masks.

I quite like the idea of this new one comgin from LG which includes an air purifier:

I don't  mind the masks for the short  duration needed in shops etc.

I can get away with not shaving  for  several days and nobody  knows I look a bit scruffy  !????

I see many people not wearing masks, a lot of them are Thais! Why is the gestapo not enforcing the rules of the land? Can't make no money enforcing that rule!

I also see many not wearing masks and notice they are aliens.

The other day on main sukhumvit rd, 3 foreigners on one motorcycle, no masks and no helmets.

the whole thing is actually amazingly ridiculous ( if logic had anything to do with the way things work).

anywhere I go that requires masks ,  about half the people actually keep them over their nose and face.

and that for only about half the time they are even doing that.   Then the workers , who do not have their mask on, pull them up if you go near.   Gee, so all these people who for varying periods of time are not using the mask     uhhhh,  what happens to the breaths they are exhaling or inhaling ??

definitely Twilight Zone material,

I see Thais constantly with no masks better still masks  under the chin. Even   the Wife says no one cares you can take it  off once past the entrance to these  shopping malls, all about face and  appearing to do something when actually  doing nothing.

Nobody could ever answer your question. For sure you know. And now you don't like the opinions of others?

It will continue for at least 8 or 12 months. Then a vaccine should provide a strong argument for ending the mask nonsense, but of course you will continue to have a large contingent of overly concerned snowflakes who will insist everyone has to wear a mask and 60 trillion people will die otherwise.
