and some might say sleazy?

How do you feel about this?

How do you want us to feel about it? Sleazy is good? Sleaze is normal for Pattaya hounds who post in the small hours.

You edited my post to distort the meaning. Not cool.

I think they should have kept the "colorful" food court as it was and also keep the funky movie theater. Those had local character.

But now with the two luxury malls to compete with and no tourists I don't see how they could make it through the coronavirus era.

As far as the sign I saw yesterday I wonder if I was hallucinating. After all I am the flashback member. It was rather a shock but given the reality on the streets it really shouldn't be.

Also the language on the sign was very weird.

Suspending service?

<deleted> is that?

If the mall is closing freaking put up a sign saying the mall is closing.

Why pussyfoot about that if indeed that is what's happening which again I'm not totally sure?

Also tell us is this a permanent change and the place will be torn down or just turn it into another ghost mall and wait for better days when it just might be resurrected.

Why not take a photo and put us all out of our misery.

I should have.

Someone else who visits please do.

I realize this would be big news for this city because of the historic significance of that mall. One can assume the local "press" will soon cover.

I was there last week and the mall was open. Obviously they didn't suspend the service in June. The food court on the last floor has been closed for a while. This is correct.

End of June???

June 2021?

OMG that's a good and obvious catch.

I think it said June 8.

So that would be next year.

Why announce that so far in advance?

The plot thickens.

We're going to need confirmation from someone that doesn't have flashbacks.

I didn't ever say that the mall was closed now!

I went in there yesterday.

I am just posting about a sign I saw on the door presumably pointing to a future closing!

If this is real perhaps the long lead time is related to the timing of their leasing contracts?

Again even if I am recalling the sign correctly which is questionable that doesn't necessarily mean that the mall is closing. Suspending service is a different statement than mall closing.

That's why I put question marks in the headline.

If it turns out the mall isn't closing please don't say this is fake news because again I don't know if the mall is closing or not at this point.

I will add though I recall there is a member here that knows a Thai staff person at the mall that reported that because of very slow business the mall may be closing.

I guess wait for some kind of official announcement.

This thread isn't that.

There is absolutely no point to this topic, merely milking it for a few more posts?

Jingthing seems in need of more posts?

Hey there.

Surely someone reading this will be near Royal Garden soon.

The sign that I think I saw was on the 2nd road entrance side.

Why not check it out and report back?

Maybe ask some Thais working in the mall about it.

It has been a place to pee, go to an ATM, and get in some aircon for quite awhile.  Maybe buy a Dairy Queen.

Sadly, a wasteland of nothingness.

Don't know why the OP thinks RG mall is an error.

I liked the movie theatre- 50 baht and midnight movies. Kids loved the fountain.

I was obviously joking around with some wordplay dude so relax.

Yes the old style movie theater and food courts were great.

But they closed them long ago.
