Strange position to take; "if there is evidence of criminal wrongdoing" and they decide against it would most likely be seen as further proof that the law  doesn't apply to the "rich" and powerful IMO.

Absolutely! And there is an additional reason. If we give Trump a "mulligan" on this one, we are making the Presidency even more attractive to rich criminals! Why not extend the same courtesy to Governors of states? That is how it starts. Either everyone is treated the same or it is not a republic with rule by law.

There is a deep-orange pantsuit waiting for Trump in Gitmo carefully color-matched for his butt-bronzed face paint.

The article is rather reticent in its coverage of Trumps wrongdoing. All it covers is the taxes and the over/under-valuation of assets which could be fraudulent along with one sexual assault. I think to date there have been 28 assaults of a sexual nature, from forcible kissing to groping to sex. Perhaps after January the police in the jurisdictions where the assaults took place will take up the cases. There is also the matter of campaign violations, including the payoff to two porn-stars. And that is before you get to the Mueller Report - no it did not exonerate him but it did not put him in front of a grand jury either because you cannot indict a sitting President. Perhaps that should be tried now.

Just like Al Capone, except Alcatraz would have to be rebuilt into a 5 star resort prison of the Federal penitentiary level.

Does that mean that the áuthorities' do not have Trump's DNA on file, and that this woman has kept a sperm-stained dress for 30 years?

I thought I'd seen the last of America's worst President in 2008. Boy, was I wrong. Trump made GW look like Abe Lincoln.

Trump faces enormous legal problems as soon as he leaves office...and he's broke and no one will ever lend him money again.

<----------->

I'm sure the legal problems have been the main reason why he tried so eagerly to be re-elected. His own interests (fears) have been the number 1 reason in his fight for the next presidency. A borne egomaniac. Not atstonishing  when you read the story of his father Fred C. Trump.

Yes, all situations are precedent:  DT did it without recrimination, so why now?  Every conman with the brass will take a shot at the presidency.  Right now Pompeo thinks he's going to emerge from this smelling like a rose and run for the WH in 2024.

Supposedly why they didn't go after Nixon after he resigned was that it would make the Office of the President look bad.  Too late for that one in this case!

They should go after every deal these clowns pursued, full transparency, each getting their due.  There has been so many we can't remember them all over the past four years: Zinke, Pruitt, et al.  Biden should put someone like Eric Holder in charge of neutering the rats.  No need to charge DT, at least not right off but close to the end of statute of limitations.  Go after the individuals, let them spill, rat, cower etc while DT sweats bullets waiting for the axe to fall.  Will he run off?  He won't do suicide, he doesn't have the guts.  He may quit before year's end if Pence agrees to do a plenary pardon, and Mikey becomes 46, or rather 45.2

I wouldn't be surprised if some civil cases appeared, e.g. the families of people who died of Covid filing wrongful death suits because relatives followed his ridiculous advice.  That $400+ million is just the present debts, wait until the legal bills start piling in -- "advance payment only Mister Trump."

I guess you mean mini-golf.

Lots of discussion about Trump resigning so he can be pardoned by Pence.  How can a person be pardoned for crimes that they have not yet been convicted of committing?  Just asking as I am no fan of Trump and would be very happy to see him, his children and son-in-law in jail.

Someone is rumoured to be in London , and the UK and Thailand have extradition treaties. She must have good connections, or has settled her rice bill.

This is the start of stripping away the facade of lies and fakery that is Donald Trump, it’s going to leave an awful lot of people with nowhere to hide from the fact that he’s conned them.

All of the defaults and criminal charges will be bad for their business franchising the name Trump. The whole empire may crumble.

Equal to what he would have to with Hilary! Did his fan base ever talk about a trial when the clowns chanted "Lock her up?"

17 of his businesses have failed in the past few  decades. Some at huge losses. Trump Steaks, Trump Shuttle Airline ($120 million in losses between 1988 and 1990), GoTrump, Trump Vodka, Trump Mortgage, Trump University, Trump Ice, The New Jersey Generals, Tour de Trump, Trump Network, Trump Magazine, Trumped!.

Many businesses that licensed his name went bankrupt, or went out of business. And he had between four and six major bankruptcies (depending on the source), including the Trump Taj Mahal (which he spent $1.2 billion building, and was $3 billion in debt within a year of opening), Trump's Castle, Trump Place Hotel (which was very successful prior to Trump buying it in 1988, and he managed to put it into $550 million in debt by 1992!), Trump Hotels and Casinos Resorts ($1.8 billion in debt by 2004, bankrupt in 2009) , and Trump Entertainment Resorts. There are likely others.

And this does not take into account the 3,600 lawsuits he was involved in as of the time he took office, the vast majority of which were filed by small contractors against his companies for non payment, or total default. Many of these contractors were crushed. It is part of his M.O.

Nearly anything with his name on it, and his association with it, fails. And that will be even more so, after he loses the November 3rd election. His name will remain radioactive, the the rest of his life, and the mini empire will continue to dwindle. During the period from 1985 to 1989, three years of which were boom year in NY real estate, he somehow managed to lose $359 million. Between 1990 and 1991 he lost $517 million. And between 1992 and 1995 he again managed to lose $286 million.

The real irony of his whole persona, is that he cannot negotiate his way out of a paper bag, much less negotiate a treaty with an adversary, which makes him very dangerous.

There is a very good chance his tax returns will reveal massive bank fraud. And he could be facing prison time, once he is ingloriously ushered out of the White House in January (possible by US Marshalls, should he resist).

He may end up fleeing the country, and live in exile, with his buddy Vlad in Russia (if Russia would have him), in Dubai, or in Montenegro.

Evidence [from credible sources] to back up that particular 'theory'' please,

If he has charges to answer to, and if found guilty, does he get to keep his US$219K pension?

Also, can he declare bankruptcy with said pension?

Wasn't a law enacted that puts your federal pension out of reach if convicted of a felony. Think it was called the "Hiss Act"

He did have a good friend in North Korea for a time, he admitted he actually fell in love with KJU, I'm sure Melania won't miss the clown!

Good question.

I assume yes.

He's probably also entitled to secret service protection in the hoosegow.

This is probably the first time I've used the word hoosegow but for some reason the idea of 45 behind bars brought it up from the dark recesses.
