Today I went to an unnamed supermarket to buy some eggs and milk.

 

Because I wanted to make an omelet. 

 

I like omelets.

 

I went to the checkout with a 2 liter of milk and 24 box of eggs.

 

The cashier pointed at the 10 items only sign, then pointed for me to go to another checkout that had a long queue. 

 

I pointed that I only have 2 items. A bottle of milk and a box of eggs. She loudly counted each egg and the bottle of the milk and shouted that I have 25 items, then pointed to go to the checkout with the big queue.

 

Then did this again as I looked at her.

 

I've never been so angry.

I like to meet her. She has an interesting kind of humor.

Should have asked her if she would scan each egg ????

My first thought too. No reason to get ANGRY about it - if she wants to play dumb then let her deal with her own stupidity. There's plenty of other places to buy eggs and milk, lol.

the best response would have been to take 9 eggs out of the box, place them next to the milk and tell her you don’t want the rest !!!

I dont believe theres a cultural barrier there.....many non muslims do it too.

you know, strictly speaking, omellettes are better with just a bit of water, no milk. Not that it's of any help.

Should have said "call manager".

If you'd broken all the eggs into a cheap plastic bowl, then it would count as three - bowl, large egg, milk.

Reminds me of a time when I ordered a coffee. When it came there was a small leaf of lettuce in it, so I asked for another cup. When I went to pay she joking said "That will be two coffees and a small salad"

Think I would have left the items at her till and walked out, perhaps her supervisor would ask her what the problem was, who would probably give the bird some serious verbal for being daft and customer unfriendly.....????

Nung! Songggggg! Saaaaaarm!...... Yee Sip Haaa! Yee Sip HAAAA!

 

 

I can still hear her when I close my eyes.

I have done this a couple of times, and the Facial Expression of the Checkout Teller, and the look of other Customers is priceless.

Another ploy would have been to go to the long Checkout, and when your turn came, to take out each Egg and line them up on the Belt, whilst asking for another container to pour 1Litre of Milk into.

This of course becomes very time consuming and ridiculus, but is absolutely guaranteed to get the attention of the Manager, as all the Store is looking, and the que is getting longer.

The Teller wanted you to loose Face

Always put it back the other way.

It's clear he had 29 items..... 

 

(24 eggs, 2 boxes, 1 carton, 1 top, Milk inside the carton)...  

 

He should have asked her for her phone number - life could be a real adventure with this one !!!!!
