GoFundMe suspended by TOT

Featured Replies

The last two days, I'm being refused access to GoFundMe.com via my TOT line. The laptop displays the page from the lovely "Ministry of Digital Economy and Society" saying "The content has been suspended due to it's illegal acts..." My mobile displays "your connection is not private".

So I tried AIS 4G, and was able access the site without problems....

Anyone else experienced this?

Has one of the world's largest crowdfunding sites done something to upset a Thai bureaucrat?

Simple solution.  Only donate to the people and causes you know, understand and trust.

No need for the nanny state to get involved.

What's next?  Shutting down my email accounts to protect me from Nigerian princes?

The site seems to be well run. You don't have to give to causes you don't trust ????

Well I don't know about you but I contacted His Most Excellent Prince Abdul Badullah who, true to his word did indeed forward me $20million. I am happy to share this with you if you could send me an advance of $1000 to cover the admin costs.

It's working for me with 3BB.  Apparently they feel it's OK for me and others, but not OK for you.

It's for your own good.

Too many irresponsible coming to Thailand without insurance then begging for handouts.  Or, criminals in jail claiming innocence.

So, suspend it could careless.

Only go funding in LOS is allowed via the brown envelope.....old school..less digital trail  ????

No problem reaching gofundme on AIS Fibre home internet or DTAC mobile.

TOT DSL Jomtien.

Get a security error page.

I could get past that, but no thanks.

You get that sometimes if a site's going to the government block page (expired security certificate).

It's still working for me on TOT fibre, northern BKK.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

It says "expired security certificate" but in reality the site is blocked by Thai authorities, I'm guessing. Still not working in Eastern, Isan where I am at the moment. Interesting that it works in BKK

The question is why did this happen - I believe it's related to a specific fund raising case on there.

Something that someone wants to keep quiet.

This response is just curmudgeonly trolling as inaccurate as it is unchartitable.    Nobody is coming to Thailand now with or with out insurance. Very few people are begging for handouts. The Thai penal system like others does make mistake.

Just use a VPN service and you can bypass most sites that are blocked.  Google it.
