Well that's it, it's over, as in the resistance is finished. The first outbreak was handled successfully by Prayut heeding the advice of the CCSA, in spite of a great deal of criticism.

The CCSA supported the new lockdowns, but Prayut has overruled them. And that's after refusing to take the blame for the restrictions, that's all been delegated to the provincial governors, who also won't take any notice of the CCSA's advice because they don't like criticism and being unpopular any more than Mr P does. So the CCSA, the only body here that actually knows how to deal with the virus, has been completely sidelined.

Game over, the virus wins hands down. Poor old Thailand, let down in your hour of need by a PM who bottled it.

Lockdowns have limited efficiency when the borders are not properly secured. I was surprised that it took that long the virus to jump from Myanmar to Thailand. I think now it's a matter of time for the virus to spread to Laos and Cambodia from Thailand.

Now, Prayuth is so obsessed with the optics of this thing, he is blinded from doing the right thing. Samut should have been locked down like San Quentin, from day one. That is WHY it spread so quickly. Dumb and dumber.

Will this nation ever have qualified leaders and ministers? Or is it doomed to mediocrity, or worse, for all time?

Still can’t beat the good ole president of the US. Now there is a piece of work.

The clarification comes after Deputy Public Health Minister and MP for Rayong province, Satit Pitutacha, posted on Facebook on Monday evening, thanking the PM for approving the proposal to lockdown the aforementioned provinces.

I trust that this particular individual is, as we speak, being transported from Rayong to the Bangkok Hilton for propagating fake news in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic!

Totally unclear to me whether he's saying that the measures were not approved after all, or that the measures were approved but should not be described as a lockdown.

Especially unclear whether people are allowed to travel out of the worst affected provinces.

The number of migrant workers who've tested positive is still being counted separately. Does that mean that all those migrant workers are in quarantine or isolated in some other way from the general population?

So many question marks it's impossible to tell what's going on.

Update.

SWMBO is telling me Bangkok to BanChang route 7 will close 2200 to 0400. From Thai news.

They forgot maybe the governors could decide individually ...... so also the PM could wash his hands in innocents about being responsible deciding a lockdown ...?

Thailand’s Prime Minister on Tuesday confirmed there is no lockdown in Samut Sakhon, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.

The clarification comes after Deputy Public Health Minister and MP for Rayong province, Satit Pitutacha, posted on Facebook on Monday evening, thanking the PM for approving the proposal to lockdown the aforementioned provinces.

However, on Tuesday morning, the PM said no lockdown is in place in the five provinces or anywhere else in Thailand, TNA MCOT reported.

This was reiterated by Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) spokesperson Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin during the daily COVID-19 briefing.

Dr Taweesin said that while the provinces were operating at the “highest and intensifying level of control”, no lockdown was in place.

Late on Monday, Chonburi governor Phakthorn Thianchai announced a number of provincial restrictions aimed at helping to limit the spread of the virus.

the PM did another u-turn within several hours.

Boris Johnson, known as U-turn Man, does change his mind within days, rather then hours.

if the general was running the real military war, his tactic would confuse his opponents and gave him victory.

Now, nobody will listen to any official announcements and follow them.

Look's like the government is an panicky mode, just random, contradicting decisions.

BINGO. He would win over his enemy. It would disorient them to the point of absolute confusion.  ????????????
