Google is a supplier for those who want to make money, plus the free stuff. TVF is a commercial enterprise that makes its money from advertising, which allows you to do what you want here free.

You can do stuff via Google and have to pay for a service, if that were the case, and it had its online problems then you would have the right to complain.   

I just think you're having a bad day, it will pass, chummy......????

But the point is of course that when their 'content providers' (us) are getting fed up with using the Free Service because of website problems, obtrusive advertising or other, and are gradually refraining from using the site that also their advertising money (based on traffic and clicks on the site) will shrink. 

At the end of the day the Customer is King, as he chooses to make use of the service or not.

That is none of your or my business, it's TVF's.

 

 TVF is free to read or those who want to chat for all, however TVF is formatted.

It's not just TVF.  Another forum I visit was down also.  Got the same error message.

Just curious, if you had a restaurant and started giving free food to your visitors.

The visitors came regularly and ate their fill.

Then these same visitors sometime later started complaining about the food, the quality, the way you run your restaurant and even the decor.etc. Also telling other diners how bad it was in there........

Would you spend more money to appease them or would you show the ungrateful b,stewards the door ?

Yes, TVF website is seriously broken since weeks. Just a blank page with some 3 year old content. Tried to subscribe to the newsletter, but no request for confirmation was sent to my email account. To me, at the moment at least, the TVF is totally useless.

 

Also, I should add to the current debate, that it's the TVF members that provide content to the site. The Thai news, or world news or tech news can be found elsewhere. But it's the help and advice, either professional or empirical,  provided by the members that is the real marketable asset for the TVF. Perhaps the owners and admins should reflect on that.

 

Please, George, buy the site back. Everything is forgiven.... ????

As far as I am concerned, these guys do a great job. Considering the amount of traffic this site gets, it is remarkable how infrequently the site is down, and how few issues I encounter. Let us give some props where they are due!

yes, keep thinking hard as you do, it's obvious that you must be right !

 

It is functioning okay for me altho' -obviously-other folks are reporting problems.In my case it was was far more unstable before the management made the last major changes.

 

TVF needs to be charmed as well as berated..????

 

Seems that there are server errors in addition to overloaded advertising.

I have trouble sometimes. If I turn my AdBlocker off and on again, it usually resolves the issue... especially when using Firefox

I'm logged on from London ( no VPN ) and for the last 3-4 days when I log onto the main domain name(https://www.thaivisa.com/)  all that can be seen is the LOCAL FORUM list and TECH NEWS list.

All other subject headers are compressed with no "latest list"

 

I've tried another computer, plus ME,Opera,Firefox & Edge. Same result.

 

Same result if I log in with my account or just browse the site without logging on.

 

So I believe an issue was introduced a few days ago.

Thanks for that, that does work. 

It's just not the same as the main website address which I've always used and doesn't give the "dashboard" layout.

Apparently this issue has been resolved, as I messaged him this AM after he PM'd me.  Have not tried the others yet, but was able to PM CharlieH and he indicated he would get the message to where it needed to go for the repair.  They seem to be unsure why we have received such messages.

No that is the same link I shared.  Works fine for me.  Sorry if you are having problems.  I do use a VPN with an obfuscated server.  When I disable my VPN it still works fine.  Unsure of the issues your having.

I saw it twice yesterday and none today.

It seems to occur when it is slow to connect to the server when you go to another page or topic.

When it was happening before I would do the click to go to another page and etc and it did not immediately react I clicked the X to stop it and clicked again.
