Bang Na police arrest woman for selling cannabis cookies and magic mushrooms online

For those who think that Thailand has relaxed its rules about marijuana products containing THC - think again.

A large number of top brass cops turned up at a press conference at Bang Na police station yesterday to announce the arrest of a young lady who used to sell regular cookies who turned to ganja cookies online.

With her was a teen boyfriend and a female friend who together were making 100,000 baht a month selling products on a Line group.

At the police station yesterday were head of the tech police Lt-Gen Kornchai Khlaikhlung , the RTP spokesman Pol Col Krissana Pattanacharoen and the Bang Na station chief Pol Col Monsek Trakunpanich among others.

Arrested were Praphawarin, 24, Napatsa, 22, and Patranit, 19.

Taken into evidence was ten kilos of ganja flowers and products made from them and 60 grams of magic mushrooms and products altogether worth a million baht.

Kornchai said that police became aware of the operations of a Line group called "The Hippy Cookie".

On 23rd January a sting was set up in which five grams of ganja heads were ordered for 3,500 baht. The goods were delivered by a delivery guy so the secret operative decided to send them back.

He was clearly followed though Daily News didn't mention this in their story.

At a condominium building in Soi LaSalle 52, Patranit came down to collect the returned ganja and so the bust began.

He took officers upstairs to a sixth floor room where 13 kinds of foreign strains of marijuana was found in various containers and there were 46 items all told.

This included ganja laced chocolate, cookies, pancakes and jelly weighing in at 10.1 kilos.

There was also 60 grams of magic mushroom products in three varieties.

Praphawarin said she used to sell regular cookies but being someone who liked ganja she decided to diversify.

Honing her skills on YouTube she then contacted two suppliers in Thailand to buy ganja heads. With the aid of her boyfriend in delivery and her female pal in cooking and packing they started business and had been working together for a year.

She would convert a purchase of 600,000 -700,000 baht's worth of heads into 1.2 million in cookies and other products.

This gave them a monthly income of about 100,000 baht.

Customers were mostly students and young people - about 20 a day.

They were all charged with possession and dealing in a Class 5 narcotic and detained by the Bang Na police.

Thaivisa notes that the authorities in Thailand have been making a big deal about the decriminalization of marijuana but this does not extend to the flowers and buds that contain the chemical that makes the user high, THC. The seeds are also still illegal.

Stories in the press recently about ganja in food only concern parts of the plant like leaves that are now legal but which will not make you high.

The growing of ganja, now in pilot projects is strictly for the medical market.

Don't she know only connected people can sell drugs?

Ridiculous! The government and police can do it but the people cannot; typical Thailand.

The world would be way better if it was weed n mushrooms legal rather than alcohol and cigarettes.

There's loads of pot online now ... they made the mistake of announcing marijuana for all a couple of years ago

and are continuing to make it even worse by now selling fake pot in hospital dishes. They opened the gates and now will have an impossible task of closing them again. Just legalize it already!

Those products use the recently approved 'legal' part of the cannabis plant, namely the leaf, which doses not contain THC which is the part that gets cannabis users 'high'. Eating the dishes mentioned would have no 'high' effect on the person consuming it.

Only roosters that never cross the road

I remember on Kow Tow there was a little bar right across the road well more like a path and it sold magic mushroom shakes etc and if I remember it was owned by the police big wig. Always been the police and army do as they like and the unconnected are crucified.

There was never any such announcement. Perhaps that was your perception. If so then you are wrong.

can't be bothered to find it but marijuana was Anutin's gift to the people back around 2018

EDIT : not everyone could smoke it but each househould would be allowed to grow 6 plants and either use it medicinally or sell it to the gov for $$$$ dollars per plant.

Barely enough for a hallucinated mushroom gnome to trip on!

Lat time I checked..... IT TAKES A LOT OF LEAVES TO GET HIGH..... Don't think those kids were using leaves like the government and police.

Never knew THC was a chemical ,i always thought it was a thing of nature and not manufactured .

Wonder where the money came from to set-up that little earner?

It's a no-go unless you're G-P-O.

The anointed may sell ganja noodles and marijuana leaf entries with the elites blessings.

You - commoner - will only be sent to jail.

And that, my friends, will happen when pigs fly.

It isn't manufactured, it's one of 113 cannabinoids that live within the plant, but the one that produces the most phsycoactive effects.

Legalize it now. Corruption in Thailand must be preventing it.

I know PST i was just joking , they are the ones calling it a chemical .
