Hang on a minute, whatever happened to the Brexiteer repost ‘we’re out, get over it’?

  • Yet another example of how well Brexit and Boris' wonderful 'oven ready' deals aren't going!

It’s more akin to resigning from a club, giving them the ‘birdy’ on your way out the door then going groveling to be allowed membership rights.   Comedy gold.

Seriously - what exactly is the "gain" of Brexit.

Happy British fish that can travel fully vaccinated on their blue passports.

They did lower the tax on tampons.

So did Ireland and Germany, both EU countries.

The average UK citizens were in prison ? Now they have their new found freedom to....visit the job center, pay higher prices, enjoy restricted freedom if working or living in Europe, have all future governments with less influence in world politics, obey their American overlords.

It's strange you should use the words "American overlords" in your post. Thanks to many Americans' ultimate sacrifice in Operation Overlord neither my national anthem, nor the French ever changed to "Deutschland, Deutschland Uber Alles". The French, despite their protestations still have Vichy characteristics when dealing with Germany. Weren't they the one's who built tree-lined roads to ensure the German Army marched in the shade?

Germany has always hungered for power in Europe, and with the EU and French help they have it. Thankfully, the UK has 'seen the light' once again!

Boris Johnson warns the EU he is willing to TEAR UP parts of the Northern Ireland Protocol unless Brussels agrees to ease trade rules after telling Arlene Foster the Government will do 'everything we can' to make the border run smoothly

Britain has asked for an extension until 2023 of a grace period on checks that would be conducted on trade moving between Northern Ireland and the rest of the United Kingdom to soften the Brexit impact on the province, the BBC reported.

Didn't Boris make a law to prevent any extensions / grace periods? BoJo the Yoyo. Sort it out.

how is the Euro doing these last few of weeks - it seems to be dropping like a lead balloon - who do we blame for that

The UK lol

Pre brexit, GBP/Euro 1.28. now 1.13. I don't think its the Euro that's "dropping like a stone"!

In all fairness I think that Ursula von Leyens actions have just showed the lack of consideration for the people living in N & S of Ireland. The damage she has done is totally unrepairable knowing that she can just flick a switch and put peoples lives in danger.

Do they really need an extension, I would suggest not, we cannot live under the threat of the EU using NI as a pawn when it suits them. She has angered both sides of the border now with her thoughtlessness.

The UK should have thought of this when they decided to get out, don't blame others.

You're correct, it's done more discreetly than that, in the name of 'the special relationship'....Blair sucked up to Bush and Boris sucked up Trump, he will have to purse his lips anew for Biden.

Is all this 'sucking up' another strawman argument?

I forget....who negotiated the terms of this agreement?......Was the UK government involved at any stage....or was it simply imposed on the UK by those sneaky baßtards in the EU?

maybe you didn't read my post or understand it

Since "Actual Official Brexit" several weeks ago the Euro to Sterling has dropped from 91 to 88 that is a drop of 3%,  more importantly the Euro is about to break below 36 into the 35's also a recent drop of almost 2%

Yes Brexit is bad for the UK but recent trends say different - even Germany has recently developed a plan to drop the Euro at the drop of a hat, I wonder why that is

The EU is imploding and it will not be pretty

2nd January GBP/ Euro 1.12, today 1.13. Hardly an implosion. The EU implosion is a figment of your wishful thinking not born out by facts, but when has a Brexiteer been interested in facts over jingoistic rhetoric?

The actual deal was on the cards for weeks before that - again you are being somewhat selective about your quotes - I know it hurts but you just have to move on and take it on the chin

If you are positive about the EU and the Euro going forward that is entirely up to you, from were I'm looking it isn't looking so good - only time will tell

I'm a full on Brexiteer, but if grace periods need extending I can accept it if it is in the best interests of future trade with the EU. I don't hate the EU, I just don't want to be in it.

'In all fairness' blaming the EU for the UK asking an extension. In all fairness this shows how unprepared the UK was and is for its own actions. Trying to blame this on the EU shows there is no self reflection at all.
