To be fair..........hardly surprising given the pantomime/film noir of the last four years

Maybe change the last line from "has no idea" to "don't care"?

That's only because US problems are affecting the rest of the world.

And the good thing is that most people living outside of the USA don't need to have that talk with their kids, since these issues are only related to the US.

Absolutely. The US from it's conception  has been the mot racist county in the history of the world, and while racism has been eradicated in every other county in the world it continues to grow exponentially in the United States.

OK, so in order to make your point you're giving a completely wrong impression of the facts, simply to make your point.

In these situations your text should be corrected, as it was. Even more so in this situation, where you specifically excluded non-native Americans, where the point made should have included them.

In what way? Are they exporting their racism?

I'm not sure I agree. What point do you think I was trying to make?

Of course you don't agree, pretty obvious from your posts.

I don't agree the US is the most racist country in the world and I certainly don't agree that racism has been eradicated in every other country, while it "continues to grow exponentially in the United States."

The US is violent and conservative compared to other developed countries.

That exponential growth you mention has not been helped by the recently deposed CIC and his racist views, and it wouldn't take a long bow to link that to the Atlanta area shootings, despite what this nut job spews forth.

Not really, non-American's aren't likely to understand issues surrounding native Americans. In general there seems to be an expectation that everyone in the world has to try to understand what it's like to be a minority in America, while Americans themselves know little about other countries.

Being a native American Indian is no different than being black.  Or asian.  Or hispanic.  It's racism.  Plain and simple.  And it exists in pretty much every country in the world.  In one form or another.

American's do know less about other countries than some other peoples.  But not really that much.  I can put up some videos of Europeans having problems to identify geography outside their country.

But mainly because it's a HUGE country with a diversity that doesn't require you to travel for...say...snow skiing.  Hitting the beaches.  Or enjoying the forests.  Unlike in, say, Europe.  And we've only got 2 borders.  One speaks English.  The others are a long way away.

The most racist country in history? Worse than South Africa or Nazi Germany? Racism eradicated in every other country? But continues to grow exponentially in the United States?

That's some pretty sweeping statements. Personally I think the US is violent and conservative compared to other countries. Research shows racism is worse in less developed countries.

Ya gotta be kidding me.  Prove the US is the most racist country in the world.  Credible links only.

What would you describe as the "conception" of the US?  This will be interesting....

The point I was making is how posters refer to the US without stating such, as we're in Thailand. Most other nationalities point out when they are only speaking of one country.

Among developed countries I think American's do worst at geography.

https://www.nytimes.com/live/2021/03/19/us/atlanta-shootings-massage-spa#the-suspect-asked-if-he-was-going-to-jail-for-the-rest-of-his-life-police-say

As the man charged with murder in the Atlanta spa shootings was put in a jail uniform and brought to a cell on Tuesday night, hours after the attacks, he asked a sheriff’s deputy if he was going to spend “the rest of his life” in jail, according to a police report.

The authorities have said that Mr. Long told them he was on his way to Florida to commit more violence on a business tied to the pornography industry there.

As investigators on Friday continued to investigate whether to classify the attacks as a hate crime, people who knew Mr. Long offered new details about a dangerous collision of sexual loathing and what a former roommate described as “religious mania” that marked his life in the years before the shooting spree.

Objective measures of racism are difficult or impossible to agree on, so obviously your post is a statement of opinion.  However it's a stretch even for an opinion.  Is the US currently trying to eradicate the culture of ethnic groups the way China is attempting to do to the Uygher?  Was the US treatment of Native Americans worse than their treatment by the Spanish and Portuguese in Central and South America?  Has the US implemented state decreed genocide the way Nazi Germany did?

Do you really believe that "racism has been eradicated in every other country of the world?  How do you describe the way Thai people treat Burmese, Cambodian, and "Hill Tribe" people?  Are the Roma in Europe free from discrimination?  What about the Rohingya in Myanmar?

As one poster noted above, we're getting a bit far afield here.... Let's please try to have the posting actually pertain to the Georgia case that is the topic of this thread...

So there's been a huge increase in crimes against Asians in America, during the last year.  Surely,  Covid has caused a huge amount of hatred towards China and Chinese.  People who carry out attacks on Chinese are not going to know if they're Vietnamese, or Korean, or Japanese. Some of the Thais also look the same as Chinese.

I think we should accept that a vast amount of anti-China sentiment has been shown on various internet forums. Unfortunately, there's anti-China sentiment on Thai Visa.  Do expressions of hatred towards China and Chinese people encourage attacks on Chinese people ? I think they do.

If you're thinking about taking your Thai girlfriend or wife to America right now, it might be an idea to wait for the current hatred towards China and Chinese people to slowly subside, and then take her.

And hopefully, we will see a reduction in the amount of hatred towards China and Chinese people here on Thai Visa.

Regarding the US, the anti-Chinese sentiment will certainly last as long as Covid is around, but maybe much longer, because the economic damage to so many will last a long time. Maybe for the good of other Asians it would be best to greatly restrict entry to the US of Chinese nationals indefinitely.

I have no idea about the racist element here, but the  underlying issues of male sexual fragility are way open.

So there has been a lot of talk over the Atlanta shooters 'sex addiction' problem, which then seemed to then morph into the the fetishization and hyper sexuality of Asian women.

Let's get real, this is a man problem.

There is no such thing as 'sex addition' thats just a crock of <deleted>. Asian hyper sexuality! Oh once again, get real, the same argument gets punted every time a woman gets raped, because she was wearing too short a skirt. I'll never use the 'I'm not one of those guys' argument, but I totally get until we change the entire idea of what it is to be a man, in the age of online porn, this is only going to get worse, regardless of what laws get passed, your son's need to be educated on what a real man is, and what and how they regard women!

Total agreement but add that the nation leaders and media have the moral responsibilities to stand up against racism and guns. Alas it is lacking and is worst that it is being exploited and hijacked for political expediency and power.

In the US, with the coming of the rightist Messiah, Rupert Murdoch, his media are promoting the racist gun culture.

If that's because the perp is a man then I agree, but shooting sprees are a problem for all society, particularly US society as they have so many.

Stop Chinese entering the USA ?  I don't think that's going to be a good thing. There's already a large number of Chinese in the USA, and a large number of people who look the same as Chinese. Yes, the Vietnamese, Koreans, Japanese, etc.  We have to bear in mind that some of them Chinese in California are born in America.

Stopping Chinese (or people who look Chinese) entering America will be regarded as a victory by the racists, and such people are not going to stop their attacks on existing Chinese and Chinese-looking people already in the USA.

The hatred being poured out onto China and Chinese people. Comments like "China gave Covid to the world, China must pay for this".  And "China lied, people died". And "if we didn't have Chinese in our country, we wouldn't have this Covid illness".

We've got to accept, we here in Thailand fully know that Thais, Koreans, Vietnamese, Taiwanese, Singaporeans, etc, are not the same as Chinese.  But racists in America and Europe don't feel the same way. They regard all those who look Chinese, to be Chinese. And any man with an assault rifle who wants to carry out a killing spree, well, he's not going to walk up to an Asian person and ask "are you Chinese or Vietnamese, I'm not going to shoot you if you're Vietnamese".  He'ill simply shoot anybody who looks Chinese.

I say again, I think the media and social media, when they allow people to express their hatred towards Chinese, they actually encourage (intentionally or un-intentionally) attacks on Chinese and Chinese-looking people.

Let's hope Britain does not see a surge of attacks on Chinese-looking people (east Asians) when the lockdown is lifted. I mean, if a man is British, would he take his Thai girlfriend/wife to a pub once the lockdown is removed ? Other customers in the pub might think his girlfriend/wife is Chinese.

I'm curious, are you in the Atlanta area and is you wife of Asian appearance?

I was wondering if there is a general prejudice against women of certain ethnicity in Georgia .

I'd say "no", what's more common is the "smart Asian" stereotype and the assumption that you went to Georgia Tech.

Don't say anything bad about China or we'll have another shooting.

You're saying this out of sarcasm, same as some of your other comments.

I will simply say that all comments and actions against China and Chinese people are wrong, and it's best we see a big reduction in such hatred. For people who want to dish out anti-China comments regarding Covid, I simply say, you're encouraging attacks (intentionally or un-intentionally) on all Chinese and Chinese-looking people.
Why should Vietnamese, Koreans, Japanese, Thais, Chinese from Taiwan and Singapore, why should these people pay the penalty for Covid ? Surely, people who hate China reckon this ?

Most of the female victims I suggest were old enough (see below) not to be viewed as "hyper sexuality of Asian women". The killer is telling his story, let's see what the Court has to say. Someone who roomed with him has claimed he was a Christian religious weirdo...

The first to be named were 33-year-old Delaina Ashley Yaun, 54-year-old Paul Andre Michels, 44-year-old Daoyou Feng and 49-year-old Xiaojie Tan, who owned one of the massage businesses.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the other four women on Friday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. These included 74-year-old Soon C Park, 51-year-old Hyun J Grant, 69-year-old Suncha Kim and 63-year-old Yong A Yue.
