Perhaps they want to prevent a situation like in India, where the sky is indeed falling.

but if that was the case, should not entry also be restricted? Need permission to leave Pattaya but do not need one to enter?

Always assumed idea of safety is to keep the disease out not to keep it in

Just doing the math and trying to keep it real, rational and in some sone semblance of perspective. With nearly 18% of the population of EARTH, the number of total deaths in India is an extremely low percentage. A tiny fraction of 1%.

The overreaction panic craze (and crowd) here is absolutely mind blowing.

Can not take the credit, but someone on FB said in any elections, studies, findings 98% is hailed as a great success, but not when it comes to Covid. Survival and full recovery rate for Covid is 98% and yet everyone only looks and considers the 2%, no attention is paid to the 98%

Like I said a couple of times here before, the numbers only matter when you belong to that insignificant 1%. But don't laugh at others trying to stay in the 99%.

Indeed life in Thailand has been pretty easy in comparison IF you are doing nothing with no business or a job

For those of us with business and jobs it has been hell. with no assistance from the government.

Personally i would be happy to stay in restrictions if government paid my rent and gave me money every month like Oz government did, where is Thai government puts on restrictions, provides zero assistance and still expects all taxes to be paid on time

Our two businesses here have been hit by Covid but so have many worldwide and not every business in Australia gets support.

I decided years ago it’s no use relying on governments for support I paid both personal and company taxes in Australia for years then like a number of friends was denied the aged pension which is means tested.

One of the reasons we decided to retire here.

Why ?

There have and continue to be more restrictions in Australia than I have faced here.

Perhaps you need to look at what has been happening in other countries particularly the UK

s far as I am concerned life has been pretty normal the last year.

Little to no covid in Australia, and like the UK, they are vaccinating, unlike Thailand.

If the virus gets away here, Thailand will be in lockdown, while many western countries are enjoying their freedom again.

Catch covid, and be one of the unlucky ones that it effects badly, there's not enough ventilators here and ICU beds, so it's also a bigger safety risk to be here.

I know a few guys with this idea.  They enjoyed freedom in Thailand while covid was low and their home country was in lockdown, now Thailand appears to be entering a prolonged period of lockdown, while their home country is opening back up, they are thinking of returning home.

You may find next generation will have trouble getting any pension. In Thailand government has not given any help what so ever to any small business, but i believe put aside a few hundred billion for soft loans for the corporations.

Permission is not needed for anyone wishing to travel into the province.

Sounds like a familiar song I know: Welcome to hotel California... Eagles.

Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before
"Relax, " said the night man,
"We are programmed to receive.
You can check-out any time you like,
But you can never leave! "

Same orders regarding province travel as last time which was a big joke.

Free sailing from Bkk to Pattaya and back on the highway no checkpoints or stopping anyone.

The stupidity continues. So they want people to line up at this office to submit a form? Yeah, that will help the covid outbreak.

Why don't they just set up checkpoints again?

These guys are out of their minds.
