This is an 80,000 dose rollout to tourism workers and the general public in Bang Lamung and some surrounding areas to revive the tourism economy. Picture: Sophon Cable TV Sontaya said that the stadium ticked all the boxes regarding spaciousness, safety and parking. It will cater to those who have already registered on the Mor Prom app and also those who have not. The mayor was also upgrading the IT facilities so that people could register on the app onsite. In a report from Sophon Cable TV on Facebook, the mayor said that this first special vaccination program would commence mid-May and be finished within ten days. It is hoped to have capacity to vaccinate 6,000 people daily. Picture: Sophon Cable TV There will be 15 lanes manned by 5 medical personnel in each lane. All Covid-19 protocols will be followed and those vaccinated will wait for 30 minutes after their jabs to see if they have adverse reactions. Other vaccination programs will commence in June with the aim outlined by the CCSA or Covid steering committee to vaccinate 60-70% of the Pattaya population. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2021-05-08 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 1 1 1

Popular Post Shuya Posted May 8, 2021 Popular Post Posted May 8, 2021 Mid-May. So a week from now. Yup, looks totally prepared and ready. Just missing everything, including jabs. 4 3

RotBenz8888 Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Very slowly moving forward. But once the big batches of vaccine arrives, if they're able to apply similar organization as handling the CoE arrivals at the airport, I'm sure they'll reach 70% this year. 1 1

Popular Post zhounan Posted May 8, 2021 Popular Post Posted May 8, 2021 So doing some simple calculations, by the first week of July there will be a lot of positive cases in Pattaya. 3 1

Popular Post Emdog Posted May 8, 2021 Popular Post Posted May 8, 2021 "It will cater to those who have already registered on the Mor Prom app and also those who have not." No mention of us expats who've kept many businesses afloat at least for the past year.... considering the Mor Prom app allowed some of those with pink cards to register, only to be told later "sorry, no cigar, not for you" (unless that has changed once more... who can keep up?). Most of us would fall into the "those who have not" (because can not)... "My head is spinning" Covid symptom? No, just trying to follow government pronouncements... 1 2

There's approximately 225 days left in 2021. 65% of the Thai population is approximately 45,500,000 people. That's 202,222 people vaccinated a day, nation wide. Every day this figure is not reached, we move into 2022. Do you think Thailand is up o the task? 5 2

That's only one jab, you need to double that figure and the target I've seen quoted is 70%. You're looking at 428,000 a day given how many jabs have been given so far. 1 3

Basically, 91, 000, 000 vaccines have to be administered for a 65% rate. The logistics are huge. Every day that these targets are not met, means the borders are closed into 2022. 1
galt1967 Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Not only will this 'plan' require millions of dosages it requires: Massive medical personnel Syringes, swabs, etc. PPE (personal protection equipment) Transport to/from the stadium Pattaya ALONE, population (500K) 70% vaccinated=350K implying 1600k/DAY. Every single day. Don't bet on a 'high season' in 2021. 1
Jingthing Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Sounds like a great event to me! Obviously they are going to need many such mass vaccination events in urban Thailand. The May date indicates this is not for expats. That is not a criticism. Its a fact. My concern about this event is whether people will really show up in the mass numbers they are aiming for. It will be a major test for the levels of vaccine hesitancy among Thais. Those that are living in Thailand, we're all in this together. 2

How will they deal with unregistered Thai's living in the different provinces? How many of them are there? How do they know how many of them are there? Vaccinating 65% of a province's registered population is useless if there is double that number of Thai's that are unregistered living in the province. We get a glimpse of these numbers during election time. Just how many vaccines will southern provinces catering for tourists have to procure? They don't know. Will they allow Issan hospitality staff who are unvaccinated to come back to work in a province where the registered Thai's have been vaccinated? 1

But if they have 80,000 doses, why don't they do 80,000 people, I understand that you need 2 jabs for full protection, but WHO guide line is the 2nd jab can be given upto 12 weeks, after the first jab, which will give them time to secure more vaccine more jabs = less infections 1

All will be well for the people who are to receive their Jabs. If they dont fall down a Hole or trip on a Paving Brick on the way in from the Car Park. And then of course they have to hope the place has been properly disinfected after the last Cattle Show held there.
