I'll go with Henryford @ Bht 10,000!   Just brought this up with the Mrs, and told her it is 'up to you' how much you spend on my funeral. But whatever it is, you will not be getting it back

The latest news I have heard is that ALL Falang now are having autopsies done, maybe it is the Embassy's that are requesting it.

Heard from where?

Definitely not the case. I know first hand of recent farang death with no autopsy (it was offered, spouse declined).

For sure Embassies do not request autopsies in all cases, makes no sense. Why would an embassy want an autopsy for someone who died after a long terminal illness?

The family has to pay the cost of an autopsy if not part of a police investigation. It would be most unusual for an Embassy to agree to pay for an autopsy that a family declined to pay for because they (the family) thought it unnecessary.

Embassies do get involved and ask for autopsies in cases where the family wants it or there is concern about foul play.
