BANGKOK, June 29 (TNA) – Nightlife workers rallied with high heels and bikinis at Government House to seek financial assistance as their workplaces were closed amid COVID-19 impacts.

 

Representatives of Empower Foundation and nightlife workers gathered there to demand 5,000-baht monthly handouts from the government because their workplaces including entertainment venues, massage parlors, bars and karaoke shops were closed to contain COVID-19. They said the government should offer the financial aid until their business resumes.

 

The demonstrators placed high heels with messages including the one reading that they were taxpayers and thus deserved assistance.

 

They also showed bikinis as the symbols of their careers which were stalled. (TNA)

IMHO, judging from those pics, they aren't out of work because of Covid 19.

I did not know they paid tax, some have been coining it in for a few years but nothing left. The only handouts they will get are what the rest are getting. That's 500 baht a month spending 50/50 total 3k, starts July ist I think. What makes 'nightlife workers' think they are a special case? Go past any Krungthai bank and you will see people registering, even though it's hardly worth it.

With the full-court press on alcohol and entertainment, does anyone believe that this isn't a concerted effort to eliminate "night-life" as well as "night-life workers?"   I do.
The elite, Hi-So, special people will keep their private clubs and entertainment while destroying the public entertainment venues.  If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's a duck.  It's easy to see what they are doing under the cover of a "pandemic."

No they wouldn't, I'll stick to my old philosophy if in doubt leave it out 

And here I am thinking "what if they organized, but on a more effective basis?" For example, instead of striking like this and becoming a spectacle mostly for witty jibes, compile a database of clientele of high rank at the various ministries and both the frequency and variety of their romantic liaisons? Once that's populated (shouldn't take more than a month I would expect), they'd be able to walk in with a list of demands and have them written into law without debate.

Unfortunately aids are banned so no pleasure there either girls ????

...which is why alcohol sales are so important to their profession!  6+ beers and they will look much better!
