Popular Post webfact
Picture: INN Thailand's Health Minister and DPM Anutin Charnvirakul was defiant yesterday after pictures appeared online of him with the Thai PM Prayuth Chan-ocha and his cabinet not wearing masks at a table by the sea. Disgusted netizens said it was one rule for them and another for the rest of us. Anutin's comments to INN will do little to quell the row, notes ASEAN Now, though frequent breaches by the health minister are unlikely to meet with his resignation. Unlike the UK's health minister Matt Hancock who was forced to resign this week after being caught kissing a senior aide. Some in his party are even trying to remove him as an MP. That is not going to happen to Anutin who seems impervious to criticism, an attitude that some have called outright arrogance and disregard for the public who are following the rules. Yesterday he said: "It was only 30 minutes. We were having a break and some snacks and a cup of coffee before going to welcome the foreign tourists at the airport. "It was nothing. "We were socially distancing" Picture: INN The picture showed chairs about one foot apart. "It was out in the open," he continued. "Where were we meant to wait? It was better than waiting at the airport cooped up in a restaurant". Then in a statement that is bound to enrage millions waiting for their first dose of vaccine in the debacle that is the Thai government's vaccine rollout, the minister said: "We've all had two doses of vaccine". The minister then said how hard he was working and what a great job he was doing on every aspect of the pandemic. In other news Anutin distanced the government from the delay in the private rollout of Moderna vaccine. He said this had nothing to do with him. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2021-07-03 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow ASEAN NOW on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 1 2

Popular Post mtls2005
OK, so who remembers this clown handing out unwrapped masks with his own mask below his chin, and ragging on dirty foreigners. Also note that Phipat hosted a massive banquet, more than 200 people, no masks, no distancing. They had a few options... 1. Fess up, admit bad behavior, proclaim the importance of masks, and promise to do better. 2. Deflect Delay Deny Discount Deceive Divide Dulcify Discredit Destroy ????eal 3. Defiantly claim a 30-minute mask exemption, supported by being fully vaccinated What a ding dong. Edited July 3, 2021 by mtls2005 11

DMHTT D = Social Distancing. Look I don't care whether the regime wears masks or not, or whether sand-boxers wear masks or not. Just publish the rules and stick with them. Consistency is one important facet for leadership. Claiming exemptions is poor leadership. Claiming to be fully vaxxed, and thus above the rules, while ~3 % of the population is fully vaxxed takes a large amount of chutzpah. I would be complaining for the 40/50/60 vulnerable covid victims dying each day without vaccines because they were being diverted to the non vulnerable people in Phuket so that some people could holiday there. That's something I imagine the gestapo would do.

Agreed... Sat out in the open, all personnel double vaccinated, there really is little risk - no one is really doing anything wrong from the singular view point of ‘risk of transmission of SARS-CoV-2. The sanctimony this article presents highlights what is wrong with the media, when people get so upset and these minor insignificant events which simply offer a distraction to the genuine and significant issues. However, the hypocrisy this represents is highlighted by this fools PR ignorance. There is an arrogance that this issue highlights “Do as I say, not as I do”... when the nation is being fined for not wearing masks outdoors when idiotic policies such as having to wear mask in our cars with our family are in place, when intelligent discretion is removed, those in these positions of influence should be seen to present an example. Unfortunately those in these positions of influence are seen to present an example, but it is so often one hypocrisy. In singling out the vast majority of people in positions of influence in Thailand we can see the examples they present. Unfortunately the examples presented are so often examples of arrogance and corruption. We see this in almost every facet of life in Thailand, those in positions of decision making power, those in positions of influence, or those in positions of high wealth. It is sad that a largely poorly educated and highly influenceable populace look up to these folk. It is even worse that a political regime and laws exist which prevents all but the most superficial of criticism.
