Love to know what Thailands success goal looks like.

Seems to me that they'll use this excuse to enact any law they want til citizens take action and take back their freedoms.

Zero covid will never be a reality.

yes , just like the other coronas stayed with us

waw !  than you must have one that is fitting very narrow  ...., as with mine my glasses always have vapor on it (not in the pool of course..) because the exhaust air  beside my nose ...... not a airtight one ...., or maybe my nose bigger than yours

but yes warm it is .... unless being in a pool

Possibly we are talking at cross-purposes, I was talking about a cloth mask, you are presumably talking about a full face swimming mask.

Come to think of it, a wet cloth mask would be getting close to waterboarding.

I think this is the 3rd or 4th time our condos pool has closed in Pattaya....Honestly I am losing track now........Heck the pool was only open for a few weeks after the last time it closed and now its closed again.....

Get a grip, man. There are people starving on the streets, being hand fed on the beach, millions lost their jobs, people made homeless and suffering long covid and death ...........and you're moaning about a pool.

I aint seen the wife for 16 months, do you think that should come ahead of your opening of the pool or after ?

pools are no requested to close.

I will petition all the coowners if it happens again. No way that I accept this anymore.

It says above your own post pools to close 9pm to 4am. Not sure what the previous timings were but would getting people out at 9pm be difficult?

Yea well..... If you liked to swim often and your condos pool kept closing over and over I am very sure you would not be a happy camper......Swimming has ZERO to do with a pandemic.....

And yet, the avatar of the poster you reply to is ' swimfan' 555555

Mine has closed again.  "Covid" and no rational discussion at all.

Trust me its hopeless trying to explain to them why Covid should not cause the pool to close.......Unless you live in a small complex you will never be talking to the real decision maker anyways...

You might as well be talking to a blank wall...

Providing areas where people can be encouraged to socialise without masks and, maybe, proper distancing, during a pandemic that is getting worse here has a lot to do with it though.

They could limit the number of people using the pools and forbid mixing with people you don't live with but that would be a pain to enforce.

Yeah as the OP....555

But people coming and going using the same facilities, toilets changing rooms etc does have something to do with the pandemic.

You swimming alone of course has ZERO do with the Pandemic. You swimming in a busy pool does have something do with the pandemic.

The clear issue here is that intelligent discretion has been removed - there is no reason that a simple regulation can’t be put in place:

i.e. Condo Pools and Moobaan pools

- Toilets and changing rooms closed

- depending on size of pool - 1 person per 20sqm of pool size (i.e. usually somewhere around 4-5 people per pool per time).

This would allow some to exercise etc and doesn’t take a great deal of policing etc

Unfortunately we are all living in a time when intelligent discretion is minimised because the lowest common denominator is a fool.

We allow residents of 1 unit to book for 1 hour. It works.

Our Bangkok Condo pool and gym have been closed since April.

Same as our condo in Bangkok, closed since April. I can however see 2 other condo pools from my condo that are luckily for the occupants still in use. Must be by order of each Juristic rather than a blanket rule. I will be dumping condo living as soon as possible for more self controlled facilities.

A flawed mindset under the burden of inability to think logically may suspect ‘its all about preventing fun’ - but the reality is its about limiting non essential activities where people may congregate.....

But... don’t let allow common sense to subdue the flames of anti-establishmentarianism.... Go for it... “they’re not interested in preventing covid, they just want to stop your fun’ !!!!

it was this selfish sentiment that cause needless deaths in the west - "my fun"- the key word being 'my'
