I went with the wife for her appointment for the Alpha Vaccine today in Nong Khai and also for mine which was only the Chinese one offered last week. Seams like there are no vaccines available for the scheduled dispensation of vaccines. NONE even no Chinese! By the way my contacts with Thais indicates that they are turning down the Chinese Vaccines. Pretty soon the Government will have a large surplus of Chinese junk.
Chiang Mai Will
Lots of statistics given, but I wonder how many tests are done on a daily basis -- anyone know? To July 14: USA has tested a total of 513,939,714 UK has tested a total of 226,775,887 France has tested a total of 97,199,510 I wonder on the Thai testing numbers because France claim that the UK has many more cases than themselves -- but they haven't tested as many people! Purely a political statement meant to "fool" the people and gain political support for an unpopular government -- and they are a Western country! So, what is the total number of tests taken in Thailand -- and just how many daily tests do the take in Thailand? (The UK tested 1,177,716 yesterday.) The BMA has set up 24 community isolation centres, and “plans to set one up in all 50 districts of the capital”, said Silapasuay. In a bid to contain the spread of Covid-19, the Department of Health, in cooperation with several government, private agencies and CCRT, has been testing seniors, patients with a chronic condition and pregnant women since Thursday (July 15) https://www.nationthailand.com/in-focus/40003443 Well if they said how many among the people tested were positive, it would be a useful information piece. The UK have obtained and offered quality vaccinations to every single adult that wanted one with a higher uptake than just about any other country. They have turned covid into something that now presents barely any threat to life and this in turn has allowed them to open up the country fully with no legal restrictions on anyone. People in the UK were in nightclubs last night, no masks, drinking, no social distancing. So other than that, yes UK is same as Thailand....

It seems that they agree the two main Chinese vaccines do provide more limited protection against delta. As of now, the Chinese appear to have prevented 129 cases of delta from becoming a major outbreak. and just look at how they ramped up vaccinations in the effected province. That’s impressive to me tbh.

Jonathan Swift
I think we can assume this is the result of a tragically failed vaccination program, poorly organized if at all. As to the hospitals AND the vaccines, I don't see why western countries that have been recovering can't donate vaccines and medical equipment. That could have been done long ago. There is more than ample worldwide vaccine supply. In the US every pharmacy and many major retail and grocery stores offer free walk in vaccines. As someone else said, this goes to the top - this is Prayuth's failure.

I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong. Absolutely that's what the headline of that article said. But if you actually read what was reported about the experiment, it only lasted 60 days. So the reporter got it wrong. In fact, if you look at the article, he or she got a lot of stuff wrong in a very short space. That's why major media sources use reporters who have a strong background in science.
