Koh Larn – The Koh Larn Local Committee has announced new rules which will start from Wednesday, August 4th for anyone who wants to enter Koh Larn. Visitors must be fully* vaccinated from Covid-19 or have recovered from COVID-19 within 90 days AND must have a negative test.

* See below, may depend on vaccine brand for what the island considers fully vaccinated

Fully vaccinated visitors will NOT need a negative Covid-19 test, only those who have recovered from Covid-19 within 90 days.

The Koh Larn Covid-19 Volunteer Committee announced the new rules over the weekend:

Anyone who wants to enter Koh Larn MUST be fully vaccinated with two full doses of Sinovac or Sinopharm, or one dose of Sinovac and one dose of  AstraZeneca, or one dose of  AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson and Johnson at least 14 days before entry.

I am so glad that every province and island is allowed to make up their own rules, making it SOOOO simple for the people in Thailand to understand, where they can go when and with what documents and what they can do there.

You can only enter when theres  no "Y"  in the day and  hopping  on one leg whilst whistling the national anthem dressed in black socks with green  underpants whilst standing on your head, it  may  vary on other islands. Stoopid is as stoopid  does Forrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrest.

Someone should inform this Koh Larn committee that you can still catch and spread Covid to others even if your fully vaccinated.

What's your point?  You prefer endless lockdowns where people who have the common sense to get vaccinated can't do anything either?

Tomorrow I will create my own rules.

Today I am too busy following someone else's rules.

It goes a lot deeper than that...... some small villages even can impose restrictions at that level. I heard that people returning from Bangkok are being held at the Wat in the wife's village.

That's really cool.  One petri-dish where we can watch a 100% vaccinated population successfully reach herd immunity and Covid cases drop to zero!

No no no. They will reach herd immunity and covid cases will drop to zero.  Well it better happen.  If it doesn't?  Vaccines will be a tough sell given their side effects if people aren't actually fully immunized against Covid.

That will be a tall order, with so few vaccinated...

Better get used to it.  It probably won't be long before you will need to be vaccinated before going to the mall or just about anywhere else.

Slowly, very slowly people are starting to understand you can't open up with only 60% vaccinated.

Phuket and Samui are now learning the hard way what happens when you screw-up and try to push to early.

Good to know that the Koh Larn Local Committee has the better mind to protect their own community and industry. No recalcitrant or rogue leadership restricting common sense covid guidelines.

Industry ? There is almost ZERO Industry on Koh Larn besides tourism...

Committees do a great job of looking out for themself all over the world...But they are having a big problem with math here.......No tourist means no dollars which means no can pay rent which means no can buy food....

Koh Larn needs LOADS and LOADS of tourist to survive........A tiny stream of tourist is not going to cut it , ever.........

Vaccines do not guarantee protection...

Just to clarify. Tourism is an industry. Some tourists are better than no tourists and no vaccines can guarantee full protection but are life-saving.

"ALL maximum control rules in Chonburi around Covid-19, including the closure of beaches, remain in effect, so even if one wanted to visit Koh Larn, the beaches are shut, dine-in at restaurants are closed, and all tourist attractions are shuttered."

If they do like Phuket and open restaurants and beaches for vaccinated people, they will be full of tourists soon.

But, who is going there fully vaccinated if there is nothing open for them?

Worst island in Thailand, good riddance.

Koh Sichang is infested with gigantic red milli/centipedes.

Koh Chang jails you if you write a bad review on Tripadvisor.

Koh Tao AKA murder/rape island.

Phuket rips you off at the airport taxi ramp.

Samui was fine.
