The Chang Pheuak police in Chiang Mai managed to arrest a bank robber within two hours of committing the crime yesterday evening.

They were helped by CCTV everywhere and the clear number of the robber's plate as he fled the scene on his motorcycle, Daily News reported.

Kasikorn Wongnakhon from Sisaket, aged 24, had entered the SCB Chotana Road branch in Muang district, Chiang Mai and handed a deposit slip to the teller.

It had a phone number and a chilling message scribbled near the bottom:

This translated as: This is a robbery. I have a gun. Be quiet. Hand over the money.

Kasikorn fled with 20,000 baht.

He was traced to his home in Sop Poeng sub-district of Mae Taeng district by 7.30 pm.

The motorcycle, clothes used in the crime and a quantity of money were taken into evidence.

The suspect admitted the crime and said he needed a lot of money.

Pol Col Kittipong Petchmanee chief of the Chang Pheuak police praised his men for their swift work.

He said that the suspect had already spent some of the money but wouldn't say why he needed the money.

Investigations continue.

20,000 baht - SCB's stocks are traded low on SET, I realize now that they might have no money - perhaps khun Kasikorn should have chosen a Kasikornbank instead...????

Almost he didn’t talk too much like this one

Not the sharpest tool in the box

This is a good example of not having critical thinking taught in the government schools. I read some really funny reports like this through the years like the guy who robs a gold shop then returns to back to the same one to sell it back.

When it comes to his name Kasikorn maybe his parents wanted him to be a banker when it comes to names it makes me wonder did his parents think if he turns out to be a robber if we give him this name he will know what is the best bank

I've know guys with name like Big and they were all really small minded you know what I mean?  Then a guy name Champ he wasn't a winner even close in fact I wanted to call him Chump!  I tell kids in my neighbor learn a skill because you too stupid to be a crook.????

Not seen that before, made me laugh.

He used a deposit slip, Silly fool should have used a withdrawal slip.

Maybe his Sister had a felang boyfriend when he was younger and he thought felangs can go into any bank and take as much money out as they like , and maybe he thought that he would give it a try ?

He wrote, i want all the money or i will go and sulk in the bar at the end of the road, turn left when leaving the bank, thankyou.
