Thai Government Asks Businesses to Prepare for “Company Isolation Rules”

BANGKOK (NNT) - Thailand’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has instructed businesses to prepare for “company isolation rules” for close contacts of positive COVID-19 cases and to accelerate the use of antigen test kits (ATKs) on their employees.

 

CCSA assistant spokeswoman Apisamai Srirangsan said the Department of Medical Sciences (DMS) is speeding up programs to educate firms on how to use ATKs correctly, as well as stepping up company isolation measures. The company isolation principle is similar to other isolation measures implemented in Bangkok.

 

She said the DMS is also urging firms to ensure that they are ready to provide shelter for personnel. Businesses must be able to accommodate more than 100 infected employees and ensure the safe disposal of waste.

 

According to the DMS, people tend to contract the virus in the workplace, before carrying it to their family members. Bangkok and its adjacent provinces are still recording the most new COVID-19 cases each day.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said yesterday (Wednesday) that he is seeing signs that the COVID-19 spread in Thailand is slowing

 

So someone claims that the spread is slowing whilst others are preparing for a massive increase!

 

Why not be honest with the people and admit that you haven't got a clue!

No coordination in this Government and the PR stories that they push out.  You would think they would all be on the same page.....

Looks like activity not towards an objective

Got to show activity - make it look like success

Looks like they've finally figured out that they can simply hide most of the cases as they recover without issue.

 

The only thing they can't hide so easily is the number of serious cases and the number of deaths.

 

With the hindsight which will one day come the actual numbers can be extrapolated based on the above numbers.

Things will become clearer as the " Rules " are made public.

However, the one thing to take from this announcement is that if ATK testing is used, the results will never be known.

Just another strategy to get those infection numbers down for the opening in Oct.

So, having totally and utterly <deleted> just about every other sector of the economy with their inchoate and ineffective "pandemic control measures", this bunch of buffoons, secure in the knowledge that their government salaries (and various bonuses for the stressful times in which they find themselves) will of course continue to be paid, are turning their attentions to the larger companies!

The CP factory in ChokChai are doing this now. Not positive cases though.

A week ago people ( tested negative) where accommodated in dorms to keep on eye on the situation. 

Husband and wife across the road are doing this and Grand mother is looking after the two kids.

Hope it works out for them, good people and need their jobs.

Every businesses are fearful that staffs get infected that will affect operation. The big factories with staff above 500 employees are lucky to the government 'factory sandbox' program. Companies like mine who have less staffs have to implement their own program. We have staff support for those who are not feeling well to get tested by private clinics. If positive, we contact the hospital for guidance. They still retain their job and salary and can return to work after tested negative. We also arrange vaccination for all staffs. The office too has strict policies on visitors and in-coming parcels, letters and food. We are doing everything possible to keep the company running and jobs secured. So far, things are working out and touch wood we will see this through.

Sounds like a great idea, for large corporations.

I hope someone is keeping a record of all the "plans" this mob have thought up. It will make good reading for anyone studying for a degree in psychiatry or someone writing a movie script about collective madness. The sad part is that these so called plans are actually thought to be practical. What company can afford to meet these requirements? Better to shut up shop & throw away the keys.

Sounds like the govt want to pass the responsibility of carrying for COVID infected people (employed) from the govt to businesses.

So they're basically converting factories into labor camps, "for the greater good" / economy. How long do they plan to lock workers up to ensure they stay safe? Weeks? Months? Years?
