Superyacht/Yacht construction underway between Phuket and Coconut Island (Phoenix Hull?)

Featured Replies

Been watching this construction on and off for about * a year now...

Can't but help wonder if the 'hull' is possibly from the phoenix that went down, a few years ago, I'd have concern about the ballast being enough seeing as it looks rather top heavy anyway.

But there's a lot of work going into it, and the additional areas laid onto the existing hull that was there, being stainless...

Berthed on a wooden pontoon between Coconut (Koh Maprao) and Phuket -- where you take the long-tail from the pier to the Coconut pier.

Anyone know who's carrying out the work? It's like a 'unofficial' ship yard lol floating on the middle of the waterway.

It won't last long, on a pontoon, when there comes, a monsoon.

Sheltered area there, I wouldn't be worried about that.

Could be Phoenix, looks similar sizewise. Bow shape looks different though, but with the whole hull completely redone, who knows. But looking at the work being done it looks like they're spending money, so doubt it is the Phoenix.

Every day in Thailand is a "monsoon". Either SW or NE monsoon.

The words describes the prevailing wind.

Been there all year and monsoon season almost over.

It is said, owning a boat is like throwing money into a hole in the water.
