Rapid tests positive cases, 3,117 bringing the unofficial total to 17,286

Doesn't it work that all people testing postive with a rapid test then get a PCR test to confirm?

This would mean todays rapid tests you count here would have the postive PCR counted in the total of tomorrow or next day (so double counting)

Wonder if those victims went into the official stats. Reminds me of the Forensic Doctor in Bangkok reporting deaths from covid that were not classified in the stats

The Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has revealed that the goals for vaccination service in October 2021 is to inoculate at least 50% of the population in each province, fully vaccinate the public, extend the vaccination to people who are aged 12 years old and above, give a booster dose to those who received two doses of Sinovac, and vaccinate people in the essential economic zones and control the spread of virus in those areas.

Map of #Thailand for weeks 33-37. Red shows you the provinces that had more than 1,000 cases in one week. As you can see, there’s a big improvement in many areas, apart from in the central and southern regions.

Someone thinks this post is funny. Maybe they can say why? 1,000,000 tests all up in the UK in one day and now we don't know how many tests in Thailand because they changed that to % of positives to tests but do show only 1,357 community tests in one day. I'm not sure what's funny about this. As for reclassification we know this happened for recovered. They said it themselves. People are being sent home still needing care so not recovered. As for deaths I'm posing a question. Has this been reclassified? Can't see anything here that warrants the laughing emoji.

Oh dear.

I will reply as you insist on making such a big deal and getting emotional over a laughing emoji:

You posted:

“Having said this ICU and ventilator numbers are coming down as are deaths. I wonder if they have reclassified what counts as a covid death. They reclassified recovered so it's a possibility”

Your desperation to try and now question the death numbers declared, even when the number of cases, ICU and ventilator numbers are dropping is what I find amusing.

People that can be so negative about good news I find amusing.

People that get so emotional over a (laughing) emoji I also find amusing  but as you’re so sensitive to them I’ll refrain from giving you another one on this post.

There are many more things I find amusing so if you want a full list please don’t hesitate to ask

Hope that explains things for you and you fully recover from the laughing emoji.

Now back on topic please.

Chumphon launches Covid-19 testing for Thai and migrant fishermen

The public health office in Chumphon province on Friday launched a campaign among fishing boat workers at the pier in Pak Nam subdistrict to find Covid-19 cases.

“The campaign is in collaboration with entrepreneurs in the fishing industry, who helped donate money to buy antigen test kits for fishing boat workers, both Thais and migrants,” said Chumphon Governor Theera Anantaseriwitthaya.

“Those who test positive will be immediately isolated to prevent cluster cases. Workers who still have symptoms after completing their quarantine will be sent to hospitals in the province for treatment.”

Phuket opens special clinic to deal with Covid cases

Phuket on Friday opened “Clinic Oon Jai”, an all-in-one centre, to manage Covid-19 patients.

The Ministry of Public Health has suggested three measures for Phuket, which are organising rapid response teams, control teams to prevent clusters, and establish “Clinic Oon Jai”.

The ministry said that these measures must be implemented in two weeks, or by the end of this month. The clinic will receive patients with antigen test results (ATK) or with results from clinics and labs.

If country is in lockdown for months, if it worked, why aren't the numbers coming down

It's no different in hotspots of Sydney and Melbourne, heavy lockdown for months but cases stay consistent. Haven't they proved elsewhere that lockdowns don't work?

Numbers did come down to about half they were in early August to early September, but now, good 2 weeks after the dark red zones loosened restrictions, of course numbers are starting to pick up again.

good to see a death number below 150.  we had a couple 300+ days a few weeks ago.  the 7 day daily average topped out a bit above 250 and stayed there for almost two weeks.  but now we've had several sub 200 numbers and a few sub 150's.  the 7 day avg is about 170 now.  hope the declines keep coming our way and we get a chance to open things up and see what comes next !!

There are only 854 Prison Infections published here on MOPH daily report charts.

Yesterday there was an outbreak in some Young Offenders facility where 1, 190+ were tested as positive.

That Facility they have just decided to turn into a Field Hospital instead of a Prison, and with over 3400 Inmates in total, the number of Infected will not drop for sure.

Yet ! there is no mention of these figure on the chart

It would appear as if the Prisons are again being neglected for testing and reporting, but with the National number of Prison Infections being at 65,561 ( ref Chart ) that is something close to about 20 % of all Inmates locked away in the Jails of Thailand.

Very high numbers for an Organization that declared the situation was under complete control
