Popular Post Jonathan Fairfield
Reuters, file photo BANGKOK (NNT) - The Prime Minister has thanked the general public for their cooperation in the national inoculation campaign, with a record high of more than one million doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered yesterday alone. The government is positive Thailand will achieve its vaccination target by the end of this year. A record number of more than one million COVID-19 vaccine doses were administered on Mahidol Day yesterday, during which the booster shot program for people previously vaccinated with inactivated virus vaccines commenced. The Government Spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana revealed today that Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha had thanked the general public and health workers for their cooperation, leading to the record speed of the vaccine rollout yesterday. The government selected Mahidol Day, the anniversary of the passing of Prince Mahidol Adulyadej who is regarded as the father of modern medicine in Thailand, to raise the vaccination rate and commence the booster shot campaign as a gesture of appreciation to the monarchy. So far, Thailand has given some 50 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine to the people. According to the government spokesman, the Prime Minister is positive Thailand’s vaccination uptake will reach 70% of the target population by the end of the year, with a total of 100 million doses set to be given to 50 million people. -- © Copyright NNT 2021-09-26 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow ASEAN NOW on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 2
Jonathan Fairfield
Nearly 1.3m COVID-19 inoculations given in Thailand on Mahidol Day The Thai Ministry of Public Health has exceeded its target of administering one million doses of COVID-19 vaccines on Mahidol Day, with a combined total of 1,299,307 first, second and third jabs administered, according to Public Health Permanent Secretary Dr. Kiattibhoom Vongrachit. The mass vaccinations yesterday were held in 12 health system regions across the country, with each being assigned to administer 100,000 doses, in remembrance of the late HRH Prince Mahidol Adulyadej, the father of the late King Ananda Mahidol and King Bhumibol Adulyadej, for his contributions to the development of medical education in Thailand. Given the rate of vaccinations yesterday, Dr. Kiattibhoom said he is confident that, in the next three months, 20 million doses will be administered each month and Thailand will be able to achieve its target of administering 100 million inoculations this year. Makes me proud to be Thai, but felt <deleted> after my vaccine on Friday. Thailand really has excelled in the vaccine rollout, especially after a poor start due to corruption. Even the Moderna is coming on time. 4 1
Popular Post ezzra
IMHO it is logistically impossible for a country like Thailand, and they can administer 1 million plus a day, why they didn't do it so far?...

Popular Post Guderian
Showboating. According to Bloomberg, the number of vaccinations on Saturday was back down to 480,000. Now if they could keep on delivering a million jabs a day for a few weeks, that would be something to shout about. Popular Post Marvin Hagler
On Saturday one of the major Thai newspapers reported it was 1.1million vaccinations on Friday. Today the same publication is reporting 1.44million vaccinations on Friday. This article is stating 1.2million vaccinations on Friday. I think that tells you everything you need to know about how accurate the numbers are. It’s been made up to suit their agenda. Popular Post KannikaP
1,000,000 doses = 2000 at 500 different places. Over a period of 10 hours that is 200 per hour given by say 6 doctors/nurses = 33 doses per hour per doctor = one every two minutes, NON STOP for 10 hours at 500 places. Possible or not? Yes even with all the efforts by the Army and volunteers in the UK they did not get near this number. Sadly some people will always try and find a negative somewhere, even out of good news. According to the world class virologists located on the island of Phuket, a subcutaneous booster using a 20% dose of AZ is very effective. They may be right of course but this seems a risky approach although it does have the advantage of providing a 5x multiplier for daily vaccinations !
Popular Post mtls2005
When the regime predicted they would administer more than 1 mm doses you can be darn sure the published figure will be greater than 1 mm. I'm not certain the regime has published the actual figures yet. I haven't seen them in the usual spots. IMO, publishing extra details about this miraculous effort would go a long way towards removing any doubt. Which vaccines? Total number of each? First, second, third dose totals. Provincial figures. 2

Please don't get me wrong, I am grateful that I am now fully vaccinated with Astrazeneca but cancelling appointments with no notice just to make up numbers on another day seems pointless to me and inconvenienced many people. I should also add that a Thai doctor stood up for my right to get the vaccine after a couple of people were a little loud voicing that farangs shouldn't be getting a shot, pointing out that I live here and everybody is eligible. After seeing the number of people being vaccinated in my own local hospital I can believe the numbers, it's a well drilled operation, it's just that from personal experience it's hard to believe that this huge effort on one day will be repeated on a regular basis. 3
