The CCSA's spokeswoman said yesterday that she expects more easing of restrictions to be announced when the CCSA meet to discuss this next.

This Dr Apisamai Srirangsan said would be October 11th - a week next Monday.

She said that reopening of certain facilities was happening in October for sure with movie theaters, beauty clinics and salons, tattooists, labs, fitness and gyms all set to benefit.

Water parks, toy machines and meetings business would have to waut till later.

She announced that 11 provinces have achieved 50% vaccinations - Bangkok, Pathum Thani, Samut Sakhon, Samut Prakan, Ayutthaya, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Nakhon Nayok, Phangnga, Phuket and Ranong.

A further nine are in the 40% range.

On Tuesday 726,805 people got jabs bringing the countrywide total to 50,867,498.

In all the stats the Thai media did not report what dose was involved.

Yep, and the world vaccination tracker says 22,9 % as of 27 sept. Just more lies, lies, lies.

22.9% for the country as a whole, vs more than 50% for some provinces.

Pure BS, and you know it. They are probably counting all that got the first shot as they have been doing all the time to create confusion.

I am just explaining the discrepancy between the numbers. Feel free to rant about the government all you want, preferably not here.

And therein lies the rub.

Great: 11 provinces have given 50% -- the rest, allegedly 22.9% -- that means everything is ok now -- open up the bars, restaurants, nail bars -- business as usual as less than 50% are vaccinated in the country!

"administered for COVID-19 in Thailand, currently at rate of about 7.24/second or 625,130 each day.   That is about 72.3 doses per hundred people (~69.95 million).   At this rate, Thailand could have 70% of people vaccinated (2 doses) in 76 days (or by Dec 14, 2021).

Thailand has not reported numbers in over a week, so predicted numbers may not be accurate." Covidvax live.

So quite a long way off still for that magic WHO target. Yes confusion abound ...until you have had 2 doses and say with Pfizer for one gone a further 2 weeks after 2nd dose then you are not deemed to be "fully vaccinated". The figures banded about by Thai press and government are IMO misleading. And why no reported numbers for over a week? Thus estimates. Nope Thailand ain't ready yet to "open up".

Still painfully slow considering all the governors pushing to open up.

If that's what getting a beer has resorted to, put me down too.

And as always they just skip past bars and put it to the back of the queue. ????????

All the numbers are reported daily by the government here: Covid-19 Vaccination Infographic (moph.go.th) dashboard-vaccine.moph.go.th. If you can read Thai there are breakdowns, too.

The only easing they need to do is stop the 7 day quarantine if they want tourists to return on mass. It’s that simple. Hence why Greece and Europe has opened up and doing fine thank you

Create confusion for those who are too lazy to read .

They could consider to open schools for fully vaccinated children, if they can find any.

They are dreaming of Alpha... that was a long time ago? Experts in the field think herd immunity may not happen with Delta, but the more vaccinations the less serious cases or death for those vaccinated:

Herd immunity is 'mythical' with the Covid delta variant, expert says (cnbc.com)

If they want to have some control over it may be 80-90% or as the article states, never...

As clear as clear can be, 50% in some provinces and 22.9 overall.

Does it not cross the mind of all the pro vaxes that there are many people who do not want to get vaxed. Those vaxed are in the minority world wide.

You should take some time to read what the article says before having a little cry about it.

Indeed... Millions of children... And it's like no one gives a fxxx.

We wait.

The confusion is total. Some international schools (Chiang Mai, Koh Samui, Bangkok) are open, normally... For the rest, nobody knows nothing. The Big Silence.

What are they waiting for ? We don't know. It seems that local authorities will give the green light to each school.... Based on what metrics ? What are the goalposts ? We don't know.

Regarding the thai schools (public), the confusion is even more extreme... People say "november 1", but they have no clue.
