CCSA Assistant Spokesperson Dr. Apisamai Srirangsan

October 1, 2021: The Prayut government hopes to vaccinate 50% of the population by the end of this month, and achieve even higher percentages in selective areas.

That’s what was announced today amid the good news of increasing vaccine supplies and bad, lingering news of the possibility that the coronavirus is working tirelessly to outsmart all vaccines being used at the moment.

Apisamai Srirangsan, assistant spokesperson on the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration, said each Thai province’s vaccination should cover 50% of its population at the end of October. That means at least half of the entire Thai population would have been vaccinated within four weeks, whereas it took more than half a year to reach just over 40%.

The rest of the world says don't Thai me

Nov 21, 2556 BE — It is reported there is a new English slang term being used by people in Malaysia, Hong Kong and Singapore. The phrase is "Don't Thai to me"

What an utter gloryhole whose sole excellence is dissembling.

Fake watches, watchmen, goods, fake poliies , fake handbags , fake news.

Stop lie and tell the truth! We hope we can vaccinate 50 % before end of year.

+10% to get one shot.

If this time have enough vaccine, not that big stretch really.

After all, they claimed earlier 700k to 1 million shot on selected days...

But, as often, there may be a big gap between the communicated "hopes" vs reality.

Like re-opening date in 100 days. Was an explicit Prayuth hope too.

Yet... reality?

Injected with what? First jab or second jab?

The latest numbers are:

42.17% - at least one vaccination

22.73% - fully vaccinated

So she's probably talking about 50% getting at least 1 jab by the end of the month.

Those numbers appear to be from Sept 22 so not sure how much additional progress they've made in the last 10 days. Their program seemed to have been surging pretty well during September.  If they have the supply, they should aim high and come as close as they can. 60% by the end of year would be a huge success considering how abysmal the first several months were.

How valuable is most of the population being vacinnated with Sinovac, which most countries don't even recognize?

There you have it, but ready to open up to the world.

Hope to and actually do, is 2 different things, They hope for many things here in LOS these days. 99% off it, is a lot of bull.

21 months is not a record they should be proud of, the shilly shallying for the first 6-9 months the Govt should be hanging its head in shame . .

How is it possible if you delay constantly vaccines. On gthe other hand they start vaccinate not urgent groups as students and now the boosters first. Why for godsake please start vaccinate the people who work and have to earn a living. They lie and twist the facts all the time. Everybody must have Sinovac and Astra first, because that is how they can fill their pockets, the rest is not important. Stop the Sinovac now and go for good working vaccines.. Where is J&J??

I hope to win the lottery before the end of the year!

Thats a more realistic prediction!

What REAL governments say is we "PLAN on doing this, that or the other thing" then DO IT!

HOPE is coating stuff with lies then throwing it against the wall to see what sticks.

Wow !! Less then 25% of population fully vaccinated now  and your going to roughly fully vaccinate 28% more of the population !!

Boy !! I hope so but the current status of failing Government Covid Policies, Vaccination policies and testing protocols   and stupid sandbox schemes when your efforts should be driving empathy and humanitarian efforts !! Also Infections out there untested and infections rates still high while continuing to push out opening dates , Now to November.

PLEASE EXCUSE ME !! BUT I HAVE HUGE DOUBTS !!

They rarely tout 'fully-vaccinated' since that figure is so embarrassingly low.  So, 50% would likely  be first jab only.

The ambition is a year too late!!! ????????????????????????????????

Thais fear Sinovac more than Covid.  Until they start dispensing proper vaccines, these numbers will not materialise.

Another day of hopes , dreams and meaningless percentages , let us examine reality.

Even with the number of jabs proposed Thailand is still months away from the recommended WHO safety figure of 70% fully vaccinated.

Consequently in the near future there will be no full reopening of the country , there will be no saving the tourist high season , there will be no major boost to the economy , there will be no reduction in the unemployment figures , there will be more businesses going bust.

Its a grim picture but an honest one , what good is there in continuing to sugar coat the situation ?

They know no shame

Getting very bored with the constant BS, government HOPES to do this, HOPES to do that. Just shut the F up and attempt to do what they should have already completed months ago.

Translated thus:- wherever there are groups of Hi-So, and very important people who must come first.

I just wish someone would come up with one, single denominator...

is it 50 mm people?

or is it ~ 72 mm people (entire population incl foreigners and stateless)?

And what constitutes "fully vaccinated"? Two doses of something/anything? Or is a third shot required for some/many/all?
