The Phetchabun provincial governor has ordered two villages, next to Thailand’s famous mountain resort of Phu Tub Berk, closed to all outsiders from Monday until end of this month after several villagers were found to be infected with COVID-19.

Tourism minister hopes New Year appearances of world famous artists in Thailand will inspire the young and the disabled

Thai Tourism and Sports Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn says that he is also looking at the non-financial benefits of the planned appearances of two world famous artists, Thai-born pop artist Lalisa “Lisa” Manobal of South Korea’s girl group band “Blackpink” and Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli at the New Year countdowns in Bangkok and Phuket respectively.

Long queues return to Phuket Check Point

PHUKET: Long queues returned to Phuket Check Point on the only road leading onto the island yesterday (Oct 16), as the requirements for domestic travellers to enter Phuket were eased to allow all people who have been vaccinated for COVID-19 without having to prove they have tested negative for the virus in the past seven days.

PHUKET: Representatives from small- to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Phuket have called on the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion board (OSMEP) to provide support by providing access to low-interest loans without the onerous requirements currently required by government agencies and to set up a fund so they can reopen to serve tourists.

The outbreak of covid-19 amongst a group of Thai berry pickers in August in Finland was a cause for concern but overall the summer season was good, at least from the Thai pickers’ point of view were the best managed to earn what would have been years of income in their home country of Thailand.
