Popular Post DrJack54
OP, are you also after the 12 month extension or just the 90 day non O? Do you have a Thai bank account? How long do you wish to remain in Thailand? 3

Popular Post BritTim
As other posters have implied, there are many variables: Are you entering Thailand with a Non Immigrant visa already; or are you intending a tourist entry, applying for the Non O at Immigration in Thailand? Where will you be located? Are you willing to accept a visa (from Immigration) and one-year extension processed at other than your local immigration office? Can you meet the normal requirements for a retirement extension (i.e. financial proof) or do you nee the agent to assist in satisfying that requirement? Do you already have a Thai bank account? It is not possible to give a firm price estimate without answers to these questions. 3 1

If your not using your money for the 800k requirements, cost for non O + 12 month extension ~ 25k and ongoing extensions ~ 15k. Naturally some lower and more expensive available. Where you plan to live can play part in which agent you use for convenience. 2

BritTim
28 minutes ago, AlexCanada said: How much is my price reduced for using my own 800k? In that case, there is a big difference in price between agents. As an example, the one-year extension in Bangkok (where usually the agent will want to process your extension in another province for around 15,000 baht) can with some agents be processed routinely in Bangkok, including VIP queuing, for somewhere in the region of 7,000 baht.

However some immigration offices are a nightmare to visit and it is well worth paying an agent to get the job done. 12 3 3

It is really very dependant on the individual and the immigration office you must use. For some, an extra 5,000 baht or so (roughly 7,000 baht with the 1,900 baht extension fee plus transport included) is well worth it for the assurance that all your documentation is correct, reduced hassle, and generally VIP queuing that can greatly reduce the time spent at the immigration office. Of course, those with a lot of spare time might see spending money on agents for something they can easily accomplish themselves as wasteful. 13

That's subjective and not accurate. I keep 800k all year round in bank for extensions retirement. Many would argue that they can make approx 5% + with money in shares etc. That's 40k already (excluding tax). Also some folk are wealthy and may argue ~15k per annum using an agent is money well spent. Up to the individual. 7 2
mokwit
Make sure you have an account with the bank your chosen agent uses - it can be just one bank [apparently]. Edited October 28, 2021 by mokwit 1

Popular Post Live Long and Prosper
about 2,000 if you do it yourself and learn the laws and processes of the country you wish to stay in, all the way up to being deported because you used a bent agent and fuelled the corruption that already exists. Popular Post Jeffr2
I have several friends who used the immigration office itself for their visas. Just go to your local office and ask if they can help! Worked great for my friends. No dodgy agents to deal with. LOL. 8
Jenson55
My friend uses thai visa centre and his initial non o visa and extension cost 32k and earlier this week he was told atm an extension will cost 20k but could change next month. Another agent yesterday quoted him 17k for the 12month extension so I guess it's best to ask around. 1

Clearly you have no idea the insurance rules have been the same for years now and you would rather pay someone a fee instead of asking the lady at the photocopy room to take a copy of all the necessary. you need a check up from the neck up mate! 3 1 9

Taxi
Where I go there is a visa shop right outside the immigration office. I asked this year via email how much (just to avoid covid crowds) I have the 800K and all the legit documents. 8,000 baht all up. I decided just to do it myself as usual, the process is quick and efficient, especially with the reduced numbers in town. 1
