Gotta admit Pray...oot did a good on on the Constitution where only another coup will displace him or his party. Sad for the millions of good Thai people who see their country going down the drain. 8 1

Popular Post superal
Hotel bookings must be at an all time low in Pattaya . Seems it has fallen out of favour as regards alcohol permits and bookings for this high season will have been made elsewhere already . Only a couple of years ago there were rumours of completely overhauling Pattaya and even to the extent of allowing casinos for use by the tourists . Hope I am wrong but why the ban on bars which are the life and soul of Pattaya . The majority of workers must have found alternative jobs by now . 3
Popular Post FalangJaiDee
Hate to sound like a conspiracy theorist but I’m pretty sure they are deliberately doing this to kill the red-light oriented businesses and venues in pattaya. there’s no other logic that explains why they’re permitting the sale of alcohol in BKK, Phuket, etc but not Pattaya. I have a sinking feeling theyre going to find a way to keep the bars, gogos, and clubs closed indefinitely, despite the numbers. They had the festival with thousands of people together which is a much more virulent event IMO 10 1

Popular Post spidermike007
The stupidity continues. A march off the economic cliff, right into nonsensical madness. The CCSA continues to prove on a daily basis how lost in space they are, how out of their element they are, how in over their heads they are, and how extreme their denial of science based facts is. Beer does not cause Covid. Neither does wine. But, prohibiting acholol sales does sabotage an industry and contribute to the continued destruction of the nation's economy and deepen the hole tourism has been placed into by the insane and crazed fools. Nobody has ever defined the danger of alcohol intelligibly, as it relates to Covid. I can understand crowded bars, and clubs, where you have to shout to be heard, and in the process you release alot of spittle. But a restaurant? Why? It only appears to be an additional hardship for hundreds of thousands who are only trying to make a living, and patrons who are only trying to let off a little steam and enjoy some much needed recreation. If anything, allowing drinking in restaurants brings down the national crime rates! At this time, the nation would really benefit if there were some intelligent and compassionate adults in the rooms, where these decisions are being made. Wow is Thailand with leaders like Prayuth, Anutin and Phiphat. Where do they find these clowns?

bkksteve123
The local goverment officials would love to open the bars and get the money rolling in again, but they are not allowed to by the CCSA. Maybe 1st of December, but I suspect it will be babysteps i.e. restaurants first, then extend hours, then bars can open.

Popular Post Guderian
There's a fairly simple relationship that the teetotaler in Government House doesn't seem to have understood yet. He's clearly desperate for the country to earn lots of money again from foreign tourism, yet currently refuses to recognise that most tourists like to relax with a few drinks while on holiday. So the only tourists that will come are the miserable scrotes who think alcohol is the root of all evil, and who don't spend any money anyway. Eventually, Prayut might remove his head from his ass long enough to realise that the country is making very little money from its foreign tourism plans compared with days gone by, and start wondering why. If they want to get back to making lots of money and attracting lots of visitors, there's no choice but to remove the booze restrictions sooner or later. The longer he leaves it, the more money it will cost the country he supposedly serves. 3

Someone is applying paid for influence! I know there are many members of this forum who are expats living in Bangkok. I wonder what their experiences living with this Cvirus are, do they live a normal life apart from the closures of the bars, pubs etc? Do some of them go about their business worrying if they will catch the Virus? With a population of I think about 12 million, what is the daily statistics of the Bangkok people catching the Cvirus today? I guess maybe about 500? That would say the normal adult under 60 who is not obese, not a heavy drinker or smoker, and with no major health issues would have very little chance of catching the Cvirus.
