Many weird people around who seem depressed but perhaps they always been around, we just never noticed it while there were plenty of girls and tourists to compensate. I personally like it much less now as there are barely girls, everyone wants to drink with you as there is no other customer (with money). Never understood it, unless just wanting a quick, anonymous 1 night stand at the local 'meat market' all you can drink night / 1 fee. Cheap drinks & thrills ???? In Thailand, the last place I'd go for intelligent conversation or to meet a chickie, unless on short holiday and have done no research of the area.
