Many are not really here! The ones that are failures not in Thailand  but in everything  and Thai bashing make them feel better.

Being realistic doesnt make anyone a looser or a failure, but if you are aware of the potential deleted you will experience you will succeed. A denier of reality or a romanticer might convince themselves they are better off. Only time shows.

Obviously, your woman is different.

Never previously sold it, and is only with you for your youthful good looks and amazing personality.

Doesn't work for guys like me that are ugly, old and boring.

I'm OK with taking what I can get.

I'm fat as well ????

Obviously, many posters here share my interest.

Apparently, you do as well.

You are right, I am admitting to hypocrisy on this one.

But the other thing I have started to wonder, is it really your friend, or is it the old "asking for a friend" dodge?

Yes, there is that.

I am definitely a hypocrite as I am reading this and I have enthusiastically participated in pay fo play in Thailand,

So I am busted for hypocrisy for sure.

You're not alone,i would say that goes for most of us?

You are assuming that the husbands are unaware of what the wife does when she is with the Farang. As long as the wife comes home with baht, all is forgiven .

I generally assume that other people are smarter than me until I have proven the contratry ???? Maybe your friend is glorifying his story. He slept with a prostitute and saw her pimp....

I am a new to posting but have been following this site for years.

Great site for learning about getting things done in Thailand.

As for my comment about bashing Thailand, if the topic of the posting is about all Thai women then that is bashing or stereotyping.

I must say i do not live in Thailand but i spend several months a year here, even during the pandemic . Just arrived via test and go a couple of weeks ago.

I travel for work just to make things more clear.

But at the same frequency and to the same level of casual acceptance by society?

I can only speak for the UK, but the idea of a gik, a mia noi or young women having older men pay them for sex while at uni seem very rare.

I have three degrees.  I know of at least a dozen of my fellow graduates that worked as escorts to put themselves through uni.  One of them was a bloke.

We ended up in bed together, I just wanted her to know that it wasn't a condition.

I know, same experience as you. Even when travelling in China, and I needed a translator and a guide for my project there, they would not accept to sleep alone in their own room. Two projects and two different translators.

And I avoided those annoying phone calls during the nights as well because of it.

There really aren’t any pimps in Pattaya. There are money boys who leach off ladies, but they aren’t pimps.

However, the lady in question works factory, and has a husband who kind of works. I have her Facebook.

Failure and mediocrity  do not lead to realism. The tone, not just the content of many Thai bashers indicate very little life experience  and even less travel experience.  Their negativity has less to do with experience and more to do with personality disorders and character defects. We all carry our emotional baggage with us. Travel broadens the mind of the intelligent but narrows the mind of the stupid...And I reiterate many of the haters have little or no experience of Thailand..

I will give you a point, but that's different when you are not able to see solutions in the deleted system. Being realistic is different, it helps you on the way to improve your situation, and do not leave yourselves behind in denial, that you are responsible for your own situation, and the outcome of it.

The people your friend is meeting might have another job but they are still prostitutes.

Come down out of the pulpit Vicar.

A bit of prostitution "on the side" is what they do.

Ask anyone they know and they will tell you that ******* is a student, or works in 7-ll, or in a bank.......maybe all three.

Nobody wants to know, or tell you, that ******* is a prostitute.

That's the way it works.

That's why "it" flourishes, because the law basically says "Carry on, but be discrete".

".............or the commission of any other act in order to gratify the sexual desire of another person in a promiscuous manner in return for money or any other benefit, irrespective of whether the person who accepts the act and the person who commits the act are of the same sex or not." A clear definition of the phrase "in a promiscuous manner" is not provided.

Under the act, persons who solicit sex "...in an open and shameless manner..." (a phrase that is not clearly defined), or who are "...causing nuisance to the public..." are subject to a fine. Persons associating in a "prostitution establishment" with another person for the purpose of prostitution faces a jail term or a fine or both. The term "prostitution establishment" is not clearly defined............"

That's the way it is..............Vicar.

Discussions about the morality of prostitution are off topic here. I was more interested in the thought process of the husband's bringing their wives to service Farangs.

Given that the Thai men are reported to be seeing other ladies while their wives are busy, that seems to answer the question.

The idea of wife sharing is not new.

Husbands handpicking; (trainers, chauffeur, garden and pool boys) to keep the home happy.

There are many websites that promotes these lifestyles.

Before you get off-kilter i know this is mostly for thrill but p4p is not unheard of in these circles.

To the untrained eye not much is happening in your hometown wink wink.

so, are Thai men really that mercenary?

that could be measured by the % of the payment they receive...

As to morality - not everyone has the same morality that you have been taught. Back in my hippie days it was not that unusual for a friend to let me sleep with his wife if I had been off traveling for a long time...

I hope it was her letting you sleep with her, with his approval?

Yeah right.

https://www.theage.com.au/national/students-turn-to-sex-work-to-help-pay-for-university-20080302-ge6slm.html

And of course that's just the tip of the iceberg. Thousands of women work on the fringes of the sex industry as strippers, dancers, escorts, massage parlours the list goes on and on.
