Yup, it’s akin to eating comfort food revisiting those old comedies again, am currently starting Only Fools and Horses from the beginning .

A good little series that had the potential for more than one season. It's one that will always be in my 'Keep' file.

 

From that series Kenny Hotz stars in a series called 'Kenny vs Spenny'. Two best friends who face each other in wacky competitions and at the end of each one the loser has to do something humiliating.

I tried to watch it but found its representation of men as being childish/infantile as not just denigrating but unbelievable. It just seemed to have such a silly view of IT.

There was not one likeable or believable character in the show.

It's all on YouTube.  Although  it had some special  comedy  gold moments it was on the whole pretty crass and tainted with the agony of canned laughter.

It makes for uncomfortable  viewing for  me.

Exactly, it’s getting ridiculous now with posters complaining that a comedy, obviously exaggerating the stereotypical aspects of IT , is not true life !!

Some posters should stick to documentaries, they are not cut out for humour !!

Did she fall was she pushed. Has this been written up before? I couldn't see it.

Court case(s) had been going on for years been on 48 hours/Dateline/Dr Phil  etc.  Anyway I decided to look because like Toni Collette acting.

If you dont know the ending---its an OK Look

Yer--I was surprised when I saw HBO had done it Will27...because it had been around for a while on different formats.

But one thing about HBO productions they can attract the stars--Colin Firth/Michael Stuhlbarg/Toni Collette

That did make me laugh, especially the 1st call, I kid you not I once got a call from the E-Commerce director at Barclays Stockbrokers to say the code I’d written was printing upside down… 

 

After much scratching of my head (mainly around how the hell could I write code that would print upside down) I realised… They’d put the letterhead stationary in the printer the wrong way round 

 

 

Sorry I’m conscious of the fact that we (I’m) well OT now, maybe we need an IT “War Stories” Thread ????

Thought I would have a go at watching the series on BBC iPlayer called, "The Responder" with Martin Freeman as it has been highly rated but.......couldn't  be bothered to finish even the first episode because for me the Liverpudlian accent made it very difficult to understand, so I switched over to one of their other series (documentary) with Neil Oliver going over the history of ancient Britain, which I did like!!

Even though MF’s scouse accent is well dodgy, it’s worth persevering with ????????

Thanks for the feedback Mike, however it wasn't just MF's Scouse accent, it was just about every Scouse accent, and I don't want to have to work that hard to understand what's going on. Anyway, as I said I really enjoyed the doco on ancient Britain and although Neil Oliver is a Scot, it's not a broad accent and he speaks very clearly so I understood every word!

Billy the kid series was worth a watch, if not historically very accurate. Strange how westerns  fell out of fashion, they were on TV all the time in the 60/70's

Sorry X… I grew up in Warrington so am used to the scouse accent but can see how it could grate on people (mine isn’t better as people often mistake me for a Manc)..,

 

If you enjoy British documentaries then you might want to try this one… 

 

 

Have to say I didn’t but didn’t regret spending the time to watch it

Yes I thought it was pretty good, and am waiting for the next few episodes to drop so that I can continue watching.

 

What I did find interesting was the correlation between some characters in this series and some in the "Young Guns" film, namely: the lawyer named McSweeney, John Tunstall, the baddie, Murphy, and a couple of scenes, especially one where Billy the Kid removes a few bullets from another gunfighters gun so he has the edge on him.

 

These could be fact or just being copied from other movies??

The original documentary was far better, and the "murderer" wasn't a very likeable character at all, quite the opposite.
