Good to see the Tourism ministry starting off the new year with a new batch of ideas. Keep up the good work!

And, wow, there are clean toilets at Krabi Airport ... good to know.

You know, what an absolutely idiotic thing to put in a news story.  Clean toilets.  I mean, they sprayed them with disinfectant.  Wow!  Incredible Thailand!  Certified safe!  (tm).

It is such a third world country and why are the leaders so stupid so as not to see it?  IT's really stunning isn't it?

A bit hard sell when the media keep writing about families spit up on arrival and forced to quarantine hotels...

What would that leave from a 10-14 days beach vacation?

Does it worth the risk?

With uncertainty, and fortnightly changing rules in Thailand ( or even the home country), and randomly cancelled flights, it is just hard to trust anything and anyone this time.

Why give a high ball with a slogan, when unlikely to be able to deliver on it from the get-go?

I'm not sure that foreigners will like a "dancing elephant" as logo, many are told to avoid that kind of attractions where animals are used to entertain tourists, including riding on an elephant...????

(For the matter of good order, the image here is not the logo, it's just an elephant dancing...????)

So, no animal abuse was involved in the creation of your post? Thank you for that. I guess they will not have to call in the PC police.

My 70 year old expat friend from the UK arrived to isolate at his Pattaya hotel on Dec 24 after being in the plane and van with many others.

Quite a horror story...... he should contact the Embassy. (They are probably all on Christmas break).

bearing the campaign’s dancing elephant logo.

Right...because caricaturing abused and beasts-of-burden elephants is intended to be a good strategy??? :1zgarz5:

Kinda like all the jubilant piggies and cattle in and on food ads and labels. ????

Fairness? Tell tourists police to stop harrrsing tourist. Following Farangs until they put the bio degradable cigarettes in the street.  Since there are no trash can anywhere.

Take out those african drug dealers in soi 15 Sukhamvit in front of 7/11

How long term Expats are being treated in Thailand has to have an impact on decisions being made by tourists despite them having different periods of stay.

Agree with all, except what's above.   Why would a tourist care how expats are treated, or the reverse, unless expat manages a business catering to.

Who bases their holiday decisions of that.  Nobody would ever travel, if people considered how any one segment of a population in any country was treated.

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports has launched the “Thailand Trusted Destination” campaign to raise the nation’s tourism standards. Visitors can now look for venues and attractions bearing the campaign’s dancing elephant logo. The logo certifies attractions that meet the standards promoted by the ministry.

I can pee against the wind further than I'd trust any Thai standard connected to tourism.

Especially a dancing Elephant sticker.

The campaign was introduced as an incentive for business owners to improve their services and boost confidence among tourists. Participating venues will be granted the dancing elephant logo, which represents cleanliness, safety, fairness, good management, and green practices.

If they could achieve all the above they wouldn't need a sticker to prove it... punters would be lined up at the door because of word-of-mouth.

Trust us. If you are a foreigner, we will charge you 10x what a local pays, for any national park, museum or many other attractions. Trust us. We are consistent.

Consistent gouging foreign tourists.
