Sounds plausible. I hope he doesn't pay a price for his plain speaking. There is a lot at stake if the pandemic peters out too quickly.

Dr Manoon believes the Omicron strain will eventually infect everyone, whether they have been vaccinated or not, causing entire populations to achieve herd immunity. He suggests that the variant will operate as a live attenuated vaccine, delivering stronger immunity stimulation than existing COVID vaccines.

Good news for Anutin then...

i read several news web sites from different countries. amazing how they all publish the same health news

at the same time. i am not a fan of

any conspiracy theories. just amazing to see how there is really one small group

of people who decide for billions others, tell them what is "going on", and what is they got it wrong?

Every single country report the same … And all the “We are all gonna Die” Brigade stopped 1 min past midnight ….NYD

He just happened to pick up a report to parrot off his pile that happens to fit in with your perspective.

Fit my perspective.....LOL

There are those of us that wish to continue to live in fear, and there are others such as myself that can understand exactly what this "qualified pulmonary disease expert" is stating, which makes sense, even to a laymen.

I remember when I was a kid, I would here my friends saying look out for the boogie man, only to realise later on that there was no such thing, some of us grow up, some of us not.

The above said, every this expert has said has gone the opposite to what main stream media and governments have been suggesting, now why would that be ?

"A medical expert Dr Manoon Leechawengwongs, a pulmonary disease expert at Vichaiyut Hospital, advised the public not to be too worried.

According to Dr Manoon, the Omicron variant has evolved from its predecessors to be better adapted to the human body. Notably, it has a reduced incubation time for faster transmission while also tending to cause milder symptoms akin to the common cold or flu.

The expert noted as well that the outlook for vaccine manufacturers may not be as bright going forward as a consequence of this trend".

Despite the propaganda, research to date has NOT shown any lasting immunity arising from prior infection and in fact suggests reinfection raises risks of both severe disease and Long Covid.

I hope my friend DANDERMAN123 who was very quick to say my comments  last Monday were full of WRONGFULLNESS reads the two articles in todays news. One on herd immunity. Two on isolating at home. Next time I hope he will not be so quick to jump in before looking.

Or there's Occam's Razor. The research is published so all news outlets report it. Kind of how news outlets work.

These are not original thoughts from Dr Manoon.....

Regardless, they are 100% logical, do you not agree ?

The more coronavirus is circulating in the community the greater the prospect of a new variant with unknown characteristics. It is not time to let it rip, less severe or not. It seems like people are seizing this story as greater justification for not getting vaccinated, that would be a gross misinterpretation of the available data.

It is stated in the article that the variant will eventually effect everyone.  It is impossible to know that.  And logically I doubt that.  No one in the world gets or has gotten every disease known to man.  And every single person in the world will not be infected with it.
We still need to get vaccinated.  And still need to take precautions.  Hopefully eventually things will adjust so we only have to get vaccinated once a year like a flu shot.

As for the people that think this is all a way to make money.  There were people speaking on television who refused to get vaccinated for numerous reasons.  They caught Covid.  They were crying how bad it was and wished they got vaccinated.

without the need for booster shots.

I wonder how many booster shots are actually available?

Bangkok and Chonburi seen to be the only somewhat reliable places to get boosters, occasionally.

Nothing much about boosters here in Sakon Nakhon.

Big news yesterday about 200 booster shots available at Vibhavadi.

Thats pretty bad.

This is all a more baloney to cover there once again poor management of vaccines.

Getting booster's outside to the general public is once again a complete mess.

Much of the world is barely vaccinated at all.

Meaning unknown new variants are coming.

This isn't going away for a long long long long time...  Herd immunity will only be for the variants now...  It's a coronavirus and it will mutate..  and it will keep mutating...  COVID is going nowhere.. These guys just  don't seem to get it..

This is the new normal..

There is no return to the past.

Air travel health checks, COVID vax passes for entry to any business, social distancing and facemasks are here to stay so learn to live with it. You can vaccinate everyone in the whole World and it will simply mutate in the wildlife there is no way back..

So basically he's saying it's not going to be a great time for Pfizer and Moderna shareholders... although... Viagra helped one woman recover from COVID! Honest!

Well no, it doesn't operate like a live attenuated vaccine.  it operates as natural immunity.  I suppose that so many people have been programmed to think 'vaccine' now that it has to be explained to people that way.

Natural immunity works for the unjabbed.  The jury is out about whether it works for jabbed people though, as the jabs seem to interfere with natural immunity.

I think you'll find he just copied this from those EU experts who have already stated similar, hardly knuckleheads:

Tyra Grove Krause the chief epidemiologist at Denmark's State Serum Institute

Omicron is here to stay, and it will provide some massive spread of infection in the coming month. When it's over, we're in a better place than we were before.'

But while infection numbers in countries with the variant are soaring, the expert said that the highly infectious Omicron appears milder than the Delta variant, and therefore more people will be infected without having serious symptoms.

As a result, she said, this will provide a good level of immunity in the population.

Its always darkest before the dawn , so ?  Looking at the history of the SARS virus , cousin of the covid ,

it peaked in May of 2003 but burnt itself out and the WHO declared the threat over in July 2003 . The main event was in China where the virus appears to have been defeated by the summer season , below a copied extract from Wikipedia . With the hot season just around the corner there may well be light at the end of the tunnel .

In what conditions does COVID-19 survive the longest?

Coronaviruses die very quickly when exposed to the UV light in sunlight. Like other enveloped viruses, SARS-CoV-2 survives longest when the temperature is at room temperature or lower, and when the relative humidity is low (<50%)

Not 100% no, I do not.......firstly I am not medically qualified to say some of his predictions are good. I do not agree the Covid has 'evolved', for one. Also advising people to 'not to be too worried' may be bad advice. We still have elderly and unwell people to be concerned about.

Interesting read...

Omicron Has the Potential to Stop the Pandemic...

The Omicron variant could help SARS-CoV-2 transform more quickly from a killer virus to an annual nuisance. But the pathogen has also created hiding places in the animal kingdom and we will likely be facing further mutations in the future.

Lets hope that many people including the authorities read and understand what the doctor is saying, this variant of Covid maybe super contagious but has quite mild symptons so the sooner we all get it, develop natural immunity's the better off we will all be. No more booster's everyone, lets get on with life and stop scare mongering the population.
