Runners from all over Thailand descended on Hua Hin as the city provided the venue for the Hua Hin Women’s Half Marathon 2022.

The event, which was organised in partnership with Nagoya Women’s Marathon, included a 4km Color Splash Run along Khao Takiab beach on Saturday (Feb 12), before the 21.1km half marathon got underway at 4am on Sunday (Feb 13).

The half marathon began at 19 Rai and finished at Rajabhakti Park.

Mr. Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayudhya, President of the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) said the aim is for the Hua Hin Women’s Marathon to become a world renowned event and to create a new dimension for events along the Thai Riviera.

Front row looks more like the half-centennial marathon

Most woman (and men) start exercise when older. Not many develop the habit when young. But im pretty sure that most of those woman who run it would leave you in the dust.

I would hate to start running in the sand though.

My days of winning are over, but I'm happy with the rear view as thy leave me in the dust.

Were facemasks required at this event as I see several, including the winner, without? Either way, wearing a mask is surely not going to do you any favours in winning a race. I hate running on the treadmill with a mask on.

I don't know if i would leave you in the dust running (not my strong suit). Rowing probably. Running not so sure.

The runners pictured on the sandy beach are from the "splash run" on Saturday. The womens half started Sunday morning 0400am.
