77kaoded reported on a truly unbelievable story that begs the question of the lack of responsibility of the mother involved.

Muang Sa Kaeo police were shocked when a member of the public reported finding a four months old infant in the middle of the Sa Kaeo to Aranyaprathet Road on Sunday night.

The child had minor head injuries and was taken to the local hospital. A social media appeal was launched to try and find the mother.

A short while after as Pol Lt-Col Manop Kiawwanich went to the scene to investigate a man and a woman called Mathana Thaenhan, 30, turned up to inquire if they'd found a child.

Mathana explained that she had been to a festival with her boyfriend and was holding her infant son between him and her on a motorcycle.

She was so drunk that she dropped the infant without realising it. Then she recovered her senses and went back he was nowhere to be found having already been discovered and taken to the hospital.

Police thought it might have been deliberate but CCTV showed her returning to the scene to look for her son and going to the local hospital.

Reporters went to investigate at the address the mother gave police and found only people who said she was not there much after her parents died.

If this was in certain other countries she would face criminal charges and the child taken.

They arent raised with consequences in certain cultures.

No responsible parent would ever get drunk whilst they are looking after their kids. This girl clearly isn't cut out for motherhood.

And this poor Child will have to grow up in this kind of Environment

Poor kid

The main problem with babies, they don't come with a parenting manual. Unfortunately, its the same the world over, but more necessary in Thailand then most other countries.

But anyone is allowed to have children with absolutely no qualifications needed.

Good idea there! A breeding licence. Can you imagine the training course? Would you have to wear L plates? How big a brown envelope required?
