Phuket authorities aims at drawing more Arab, Indian, and Australian tourists after Russian tourists dry up due to war and sanctions

Phuket – The Phuket governor is aiming at drawing more Arab, Indian, and Australian tourists after the number of tourists have dropped due to the Russia-Ukraine war and the impending low season.

 

Today, March 31st, Phuket governor Narong Wun Siew said that the number of international tourists traveling to Phuket has significantly reduced to 2,000-3,000 people per day in contrast with the previous average of 3,000-4,000.

 

According to the governor, possible reasons include the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia because the majority of international tourists were Russian previously, and Phuket is also approaching the low season, which causes a noticeable decline in overseas room reservations.

Why in all these years they never came up with even a single plan “aiming” for more Europeans? Always their plans are for these following countries more 1.Indians  2.Arabs and 3.Russians 4.Chinese. What’s so bad about aiming for more Europeans?????????

Exactly part of reason why I cancelled my 2 week visit yesterday. Also Air Asia cancelled my KL/Krabi flight. Then Jetstar diverted my Phuket: Sydney flight to via Melbourne the day before my original travel date. Obviously airlines have low demand to Phuket and are consolidating flights. Happy to not spend my money in Thailand but sad I will not see my friends there. Not risking a 10 day quarantine!

Probably because they know they can't scam them no more. European turist came here a lot but have learned the lesson so now they prefer to visit other countries.

Nothing wrong with having preferences. I for one prefer not to mix or sympathize with Arabs and Indians.

They always go for quantity never for quality.  Who the heck wants to share their holidays with Arabs and Indians. Ask any cabin crew and they will tell you. They even didn't mix when soi 4 was still popular. Same goes for Russians and Chinese. If you concentrate on these 4 different nationalities, forget about the rest of the world. No, it is not about racism, pure common sense. Anyone in the travel industry could tell you.
