Reminds me, what ever happened to those 300 odd luxury cars that the bent Police chief collected ? All all distributed out now ?

Next life i intend to join the Thai police as the keeper and curator of their storage compounds where they keep their confiscated and sized loot, from what i read lately one can be very comfortable working there...

Seized by police for illegality, yet they can sell them legally?

Welcome to Thailand

I doubt if anything is held in storage very long.

It seems that many things are re-distributed quit quickly.

Sold at auction for about the same money, I'd expect.

Welcome to Thailand

The birds were in the possession of crooks, not themselves the primary focus, at least what I gathered.

So why are they auctioned and not released back into the wild?

No. They were all nailed to their perches and pining for the fjords.

They are captive bred domesticated pet birds.

If released into the wild they would be dead in a few days, unless they flew to some human to rescue them.

Because they, the south American ones particularly, might not survive in the wilds of Thailand.

Maybe they will get seized again for the next auction ????
