Most of the fun is finding out for yourself.

Things which makes a bar noteworthy -

Pretty staff

decent priced booze

good food

music

If you mind blowing your wad (of cash ;-)) then it has to be Suzie Wongs

IMO, the best music bar in Bangla/Patong is Red Hot at the opposite end (from the beach) of Bangla, with the live band being very good indeed, but remember that the alcoholic drinks are priced accordingly to take into consideration the fact that you have live entertainment!

Kangaroo bar is always popular because it has some chatty girls behind the bar, and quite a few of them too.

If you would like a little bit of peace and quiet with your drinks, and perhaps something to eat, whilst looking out over the sea, then the new Blue Beach Café and Restaurant on Beach Road (just to the right after exiting Bangla on the beach road) is a good choice as it is right on the beach.

I haven't been into the Irish bar yet, so can't comment on it.

Just to reiterate what another poster has said, Suzie Wong's is a good go-go place with some pretty girls prancing around semi-naked. A good place for a few lads to go and have a bit of fun.

Sir, you missed an equally valid reason; Staff Attitude.

Hilarious.  Things that should be a given you refer to noteworthy.

.... and is also the cheapest bar on Bangla (as at March '22)

Beers (incl. San Miguel, which is extra at some bars) are B80 a bottle - no surprise that it is the most difficult bar at which to find a seat.

Kangaroo bar ! My word - that was our go to bar in the early 90s (30 years ago) when Bangla  road was gravel. Glad to hear it’s still rocking… long after I’m not! ????

View a few recent pages of Patong the Wake as poster Xylophone basically gives a run down of whats happening (and whats not) on Bangla.

Kangaroo Bar and a few bars next to it up and down used to be a very nice place to sit and watch the world go by. But I was passing by a few times this year and the music was so so loud , it's impossible to sit anywhere there....!?

It seems the DJs are competing with each other and turning the volume so high it really hurts - and before you say, I'm old, but not that old....! , it is basically unbearable...still full though... (probably with those with hearing problem ...????).
