Any Cannabis Dispensary visitors?

Any one else visit the new Cannabis dispensaries? I have been to two and got some High grade high quality flower. The first shop was mostly Thai people and super crowded. The second was mostly foreigners but also busy. Nice to see that it's so popular and also really happening.

When I was in USA in Colorado where MJ is fully legal, I decided to visit a shop and buy something.

I imagined it is gonna be like a center with happy people, with jokes, rastafari hats.

Instead, the queue consist of frowning people with signs of degradation. They looked like young alcoholicers.

I quit with the idea and went away.

 

As someone already mentioned the old stuff wasn't that strong. I remember when I was younger it caused happy/cheerful mood, laugh for an evening.

Modern stuff is like ... making you stoned...

I share similar experiences, but I think it's not to do with the weed itself but rather your age and life situation. Where I lived as a kid, high potency dutch weed was available everywhere. It was just as you described, happy and cheerful. But these days it just gives me paranoia and negative feelings. I think it's to do with the fact that when you're young, you have nothing to worry about. When you're older, you may be dealing with stressfull situations that weed only make worse.

I wouldn't base your opinion on just one shop in Colorado. Seems a bit narrow minded. I've been to at least a dozen different shops in Massachusetts and all have been very energetic, good music , good feelings all round and great smelling. Always see older and younger mixing well. There are also menus in every store and it not all " strong " generally very large selection. Has seeing grumpy people in a liquor store made you stop buying as well?

Different stains have different effects.
Generally:
Sativa strains give you that giddy feeling where watching comedy on TV is a kick.  When I was in university a bunch of friends use to get together to watch All In The Family every week.  A six pack, a few tokes, pizza and Archie Bunker and family and things were a riot.
Indica strains put you down for the count.  Cue up Jefferson Airplane, Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, or Jimmie Hendrix and sink into a bean-bag and let it all wash over you.
If I wasn't drinking beer, I could wake up at 7am and head for Uni as fresh as a daisy.

Perhaps you were just projecting your own stereotype on this folk.  Most of those who I hung out with and smoked with before leaving the US were a very wide range of individuals who hung out in the snow sports scene.  They ranged from seasonal "lifties", restaurant and bar workers, and a lot of professional ski and snowboard instructors whose day jobs ranged from auto mechanics to electrical and mechanical engineering. 
When you look at a group of people with a built in prejudice, you see what you want to see.
That doesn't make it reality. 
The morally righteous tend to hold themselves in high regards while disparaging others as trifles and outcasts.

Re potency... depends on when you started doesn't it... having started pre female plants myself homegrown and Mexican dirt weed was the starting point. Then Jamaican sensi and Columbian. Smokin' sensi in Jamaica clubs at 15-16 would, at times, give you starry tunnel-vision!

Then true female buds and mad scientist hybrids and rocketing thc levels just made everything even better. 

 

I guess the point us caution to the casual user... bloody awesome for a chronic!

I will give it another try. Just had some indica and sativa (dominant) delivered; Strawberry Cheesecake and Blue Dream. Both of them had effects described like those I used to like, on leafly.com.
