Opinion: The president of the senate just said nepotism is not morally wrong; we’re not kidding

The whole country is run on these lines.  The best candidate for a job is not appointed unless related to the boss.  We should start a new movement named 'Do you know who my father is?'

Doesn't Thailand have a National Anti-Corruption Commission? Of course they would approve of nepotism, nothing corrupt with that.

They even have an Anti Corruption Museum that signals 'Corruption starts with us and ends with us.'

Worthy enough, but the people are not often entrusted with  power or responsibility.

Personally it should be no surprise unless one lives under a rock?

This guy is just one President bold or just stupid arrogant enough to tell the truth.

I wonder why the reporter even ask the question makes me wonder even Thai living under the rock.

This guy is just one there isn't a person that didn't get where they are in politics elected in office through this belief people actually think the new Bangkok governor is different.

In a system where duel pricing got a stamp of approval, citizen feel a bit of corruption is good there is a long list why would a reporter ask such a question?

GO to any government office particularly immigration it is like a daily family reunion? ????

I don't think it is wrong, for anywhere, for any citation.  Gov't or workplace.

As long as they are qualified, or can learn the job, task at hand quickly, why not hire someone you know & trust.

That is kind of true until it happens you?

Guess it is alright for another person to work go to school then have no chance in obtaining a job in government better to hire someone you know and trust that hopefully can learn what someone who went to school to learn!?

They key is as you noted

Qualify maybe the constant bashing of Anutin and PM might give some a clue why Thailand had so many restrictions and of course Mask wearing?

Pornpetch said nepotism, in government, is not morally wrong.

So, what is the problem? The majority of voters still believe in lucky numbers of the three-headed chicken, luck in dinosaur vomit and the tons and tons of clay and stones worn as amulets ....... go figure!

As long as the voter base is as it is - good luck to all of them.

Why ? what has he done or plan to do to justify this statement? i can't believe i read this correct, in practice this man is whit-washing 90% of the corruption in this country...

My guess is that he would respond to any question asking for clarification by saying: "I have a reponsibility to take care of my family".

In this scenario 'The Best Person For The Job' approach would not apply.

The devil is in the "as long".

Of course they would. How do you think they got picked for a cushy commission position in the first place?!
