Phuket – A leading Phuket doctor advises the public to still wear face masks in areas with lots of people and indoor locations despite the mask mandate being dropped nationally in Thailand.

The director of Vachira Phuket Hospital Doctor Weerasak Lorthongkam told The Phuket Express, “Even though the mask mandated has been dropped, Covid -19 still exists and the pandemic is not over, despite most cases being mild. So wearing face masks is still NECESSARY’ to prevent ourselves from getting Covid -19 and to protect those in our community who may be vulnerable or at risk.”

“In risky areas like in busy public parks, hospitals, meeting rooms, places with lots of people, or indoor area with less airflow it is still NECESSARY’ to wear face masks.

No thanks. It's over. It's a cold. But please feel free to wear yours if you want.

Perhaps people could stop arguing what THEY think everyone should do and let people do what they want.

Not required in Denmark or England, not required in sports stadiums in Australia or New Zealand, not required in public places in NZ and Australia, except for supermarkets, and a few other places, the government doesn't tell you what type of Omicron you have, only provides rapid antigen tests, self administration, and tell you to isolate if positive, NZ people in general don't seem worried about the new variants, and Jacinda has said they will not be raising the alert level. It's over rover, hopefully.
