Uh-huh. Sure. Yet the Aseannow rewriter and Daily News police reporter and the Daily News publisher and you all have one thing in common - you all have absolutely no idea if the man is "rich and connected". Where 'absolutely' is an absolute word.

You, Mister Pyjamas, have no idea of who the man is. You haven't a clue of whether he is 'rich and connected'. You don't even know his name - which is why you won't write it.

This story is a picture-perfect example of uninformed misinformation and lies and you are the latest uninformed story-fabricator in a string of them.

Do you have a problem reading/understanding English or too lazy to read the entire post as they did name him in the article and the injured motorcycle driver.

" Arrested was 54 year old Sorawuth Nana who was incoherent with drunkenness.

He was charged with attempted murder, weapons offences and DUI. "

At 1 pm on Sunday his elder sister arrived with 300,000 baht to bail him out and take him home.

except this night , alcohol to excess and guns

don't mix.

Denial is not a river in Egypt.

Unfortunately alcoholism ruins the entire family.

Wonder how many Thais have a gun at home or in their vehicle.

My wife carries a baseball bat in her pickup as a precaution in case of attack. Wouldn't be much use against a gun, though. Nice country, Thailand, where anything can set anyone off into a deadly rage at any time.

It was nice of the guys to film this, but one of them could have used his phone to call the police!

I thought the same thing.

Perhaps someone with him did. I don't think the police just happened to be passing, so you?

She said he was reversing into his house but the motorcyclist hit his rear. He didn't mean to shoot him, just threaten him to get him to leave the area

From the video the opposite appears to be more true, as on at least two occasions he prevented the motorcyclist from leaving

He was going to take the victim to hospital himself but the police arrived first, Kee, the sister claimed.

What planet is this family from?

Laughable, on bail for £7,000 for attempted murder. I wonder how many would put up bail if the bail HAD to be used in any compensation to the victim in any future lawsuit and was held for 6 months after conviction for said victim - or family - to launch claim

The bail should have been at least 3 million baht in cash and non refundable.

Yet you seem to know everything about him. Have you ANY proof or links to say that everybody else is wrong and only you are correct?

What we DO know is that he was armed, violent and dangerous and comes from a rich enough family to stump up 300,000 baht for bail within a short time.

BTW Wandasloan IF you had read the OP carefully you would have seen this.

quote "The victim - Harit, 33 - had already been taken to Phra Nang Klao Hospital by a member of the public, reported Daily News.

Arrested was 54 year old Sorawuth Nana who was incoherent with drunkenness."

Now to me his name is already public and with a family name like Nana it is a reasonable connection to make.

Whatever the reasons etc he was carrying a gun and used it to 'threaten someone to go away"

Then he accidentally shoots him!

In most civilised countries that wouldn't automatically be a bailable offence from a police station if a family member stumps up 600,000THB!

Nope that's not a mistake it's probably nearer the truth hasip hasip.

Same reason as a cop was let off with a slap on the wrist for running over a doctor in a cross walk and killing her

Force the man to pay a few million baht to compensate the motorcyclist for his pain and suffering and put the shooter in jail for about 20 years.  That will send a clear message to the jerks that think because of their status or money they can get away with it.

Police at the scene later found bloodstains and casings from a .380 weapon.

The victim - Harit, 33 - had already been taken to Phra Nang Klao Hospital by a member of the public, reported Daily News.

This suggests another side to the story.

TiT... I'll keep it short.

"Under stress", "not to excess", "just threaten him".

If you've ever spent some time in a teachers' office in Thailand, you'd witness this familiar scene. A group of 3-4 students is called in to answer for some incident to their homeroom teacher. They get down on their knees around the teacher's desk. She grills them one by one like a police interrogation. I've picked up enough Thai to get the general gist.

"So you did this?", "Yes ma'am", "Why did you do that?", "Because I had to (blah blah)", "Oh, so you did (blah blah)?", "Yes, but not like that, it was (some excuse)", "Oh are you sure?", "Yes, I had to..."

And on it goes. The aim is not to get to the truth, or get a confession, but rather to explain it away.

Thus, an integral part of Thai education right there, beginning from when they're about 13 years old, is targeted training in how to make excuses, deflect attention, deny responsibility.

She described him to police as a lovely guy with full mental faculties. But he was under stress. She admitted he drinks, but not to excess.

Sounds like his sister doesn't know her brother at all.

In any other country near or far, even the dark side of the Moon Nana would be on rice soup in the Bkk Hilton

In practically every other country bail would be on the table also.  Maybe you know a country where the option of bail is denied by law for the offences he has been charged with?
