Or try a very popular bar 200 metres further along soi Bukhaow where they have just increased soft drink prices by 5 baht....coke now 25 baht with all the free ice you may need.

55 baht is a rip off......

Ah, but is that a full 330ml can....or a splash of flat stuff from a huge plastic bottle?

another one whose missed the point, it depends what the norm is

The norm should be 40-60 baht for coke, sprite whatever, specially in 2022's economy. If you are shocked by this, get used to it, its anywhere soon enough.

Prime Burger is next.

Fair warning the burgers are getting up towards nearly 300 baht there. Id recommend a sticky rice burger fresh out the microwave at 7-11 and a comfy seat on the steps out front.

Soi Buakow is known for cheap charlies sitting for hours nursing one drink watching the world go by.

You want coke for 25b? Go to 7-11.

No. Its know for expensive  GG bars, BJ bars, music  bars, tree town, the Pattaya  beach bar with pool, the famous scooters bars etc etc

113 replies to a thread about a 55B Cola!

Go to NEP and they're about 150B there!

Come on guys, get a grip! If the place charge that, they either have a good reason or don't care what a load of sad buggers think.

Trying drinking Coke with Ice in a GoGo beer it's approx the same price in there as a Lady Drink.

If you drink Beer it's a lot cheaper ????

These bars are at it as well. As a non drinker. I am fed up of places charging rip off prices for non alcoholic drinks, and not just in Thailand.

What price do you expect?

I am sure many people, especially tourists, think 55B is very reasonable.

I guess they are more interested to sell to tourists and make money compared to selling to locals who want everything cheap. It's a business...

Just because something is a business there is no excuse for ripping people off, tourists or not.

Nursing one drink is a myth people keep repeating. When did you last see it? and for how long?

I though Pattaya was full of Indians at the moment. If there are 3 or less, then they probably won't be bothering too much about straws.

Sadly typical in threads like these, as with the guy getting overcharged at Makro then shot down for pointing it out. Many of you sound like you’ve just stepped off the boat. A can of coke in a glass of ice at a typically ordinary, non touristy restaurant in a somewhat backward area of a rough part of Thailand is not 55 baht. They were taking the P and have likely lost a customer. The op was merely pointing it out and hadn’t made a big deal. Some of the reactions are priceless.

5 pages now from folks who I'd guess haven't been to Pattaya in years. If I was a non drinker and a beer bar charged me 55thb I'd be fine with it, no big deal or a tourist trap. But, at a so so eatery on Soi Buakhao I'd think 30thb would be the price.
